@crusader8 Thank you for your thoughtful advice. :) A big part of the issue is that she and I approach conflict very differently. She comes from a home where healthy communication didn't exist so she actively avoids conflict and becomes enraged when forced for whatever reason to confront it. We see a therapist and he helps. It's just been a while since we had an appointment, and that's my fault. I wish we were more independent, but professional help is sometimes necessary and, while I'll gladly take it, Ii feel torn about /needing/ it.
