@hakupony I guess what I mean is that ideally I feel that spiritual and social laws should exist in harmony with one another. While mankind isn't usually clever enough to manage this on our own, we're left to do the best we can and commanded to seek divine guindance in all things. The modern living prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has explicitly instructed the modern saints to support the banning of gay marriage in th US.
