    @omni That's pretty much it. If you're not adding new devices regularly (and all your devices support being manually assigned IPs; I'm aware of very few devices that don't, so that's probably no bother), then there's no real advantage to it beyond the convenience. And since that same property that usually makes it convenient is the exact one that's shot you in the foot here, I would say it's of dubious value anyway.
