@comradeconventrix no I do, I've delt with both of my sister's BF/Fiance/Husband's buying them, they would agree, for a young couple just starting out, and with a kid on the way, $1000 for an engagement ring is quite simply, way too much, that much should be saved for the wedding bands if anything.
