    @unhipdruid Also, important: Disable and uninstall your NVIDIA drivers and remove your etc/xorg.conf file (you may want to back it up, just to be sure). Also important, make sure the nouveau drivers aren't blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d (I think that counts for Ubuntu as well). Also, as usual with computer stuff, YMMV.
