@thelastgherkin I think that's why I don't like it. Nineteenth century UK wasn't one of the most appealing historical contexts IMO, and I dislike nonsense and ridiculousness at that level, when it looks like the whole story is an acid trip. In short, things I dislike ambientated in a culture I'm not fond of.
