@thatonestocking Well, that's kind of the point. By doing that you remove the methaporical ground of the conversation, both lose your footing, at it becomes kind of a game of "Who steers better". It can only work badly if you critically mess up, at which point you can mask it as a joke gone wrong; or if she in fact has strong feelings for you, in that case it will become evident, she won't know what to say, and you can properly steer the conversation with little effort, towards intimacy or to gain footing again and keep things pale.
