Talk with your friend first about what they might be looking for there, and what your potential boss finds important in a worker. Frame your email around this information. Do NOT ask about salary, benefits, etc. Tell her that you'd to further discuss this, in person or on the phone. If you don't hear anything back after a week, call or drop by.
