@scoot I'm not saying that they have to be full-fledged 3D 1080p Square-Enix quality art, but defaulting to 8bit when you could have done something to differentiate yourself from the other 30 games that have incredibly similar art styles is a little lazy. I obviously don't know what it all entails since I'm not in that field, but that's just what I feel as a consumer.
