  1. Someone just asked me to describe MLP:FIM characters, and I used The Breakfast Club as framework. I explained I had loved TBC in high school, and the idea of a diverse set of archetype characters coming to learn about each other and care for each other was really unique element to 4th gen MLP not present in other gens. I always point out to people that as a kid I grew up on Star Trek reruns and X-Men comic books, and the cooperative diversity of those characters working together that was an early lesson that really became my default mode. The differences between characters becoming the reason their teams were stronger overall. I don't think I see that lesson much these days.
