@northernnarwhal Interestingly enough, being a fanboy of Steven Universe taught me that I could be obsessed with a fictitious world (and probably more unhealthily, fictitious characters) WHILE frequently making jokes about it WITHOUT being a huge obnoxious butt who shoves it down people's throats. I only make fun of my lesbo-rock-loving self among my friends who I know are fine with it, and find it somewhat funny at the least. Even then, I try to avoid talking about SU unless the current subject of the conversation pertains to it in some way and the timing is right for it to be appropriate enough to laugh about. Of course, this backfires sometimes (tbf my lesbian breakdown went a little too far yesterday), but I try my best to not be who I once was: an unfunny, obnoxious, fanboy.
I like rocks.
