    I was super thrown off because they name drop Everybody Loves Raymond at one point. It threw me off because, aside from some the music, which as with the series was licensed from popular artists in the 80s (there was even a piece of the Ferris Bueler score in there), everything else maintained this sort of in-universe sense of media isolation. Like imagine if you were watching Steven Universe and suddenly Steven was like "Hey ugly eyebrow big nose, let's go watch The Simpsons".
