    @bowbow "Anime" on its own is sort of a nebulous term so I use it to refer to animation specifically from Japan to avoid confusion. Also because anime is a medium, not a genre. There are animations from outside of Japan that take clear influence from Japanese animation visually (i.e. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Steven Universe, etc.) but I can also think of numerous anime that all have their own distinct look and feel.
