@nerthos I think this had something to do with the Latin alphabet, there was no W back then. Untill the 8th century or so then scribes wrote "uu" whenever they wanted to write something with a "w", untill that was phased out for the "Wynn" symbol, which looks like the letters P and D had a rough night together. So at this point I am just happy we're calling it "double you" and not "SuPer Dee" ... Oh and it also had something to do with old typewriters not having a "w" so they would write "vv" just like how some typewriters do not have a "ß" ( it's a German thing ) so they would write "ss" so... ... ... Know what ? Language is stupid !
