@ceruleanspark Let's be fair about it, the emboldened hard left had a LOT of excesses that lead to that. The hard right would have slowly went away if a lot of people didn't feel abused and trampled by these minorities. It's a situation that's crappy for both sides, caused by both sides being stupid, and having the normal people in both sides pay for it. A lesson in shutting up extremists in every movement before they generate resistance.
