I had the opportunity to play with the HTC Vive that the university got (and I'll be experimenting on). It works better than expected. The controllers jitter slightly but noticeable and I had some blurriness problems but I was lazy and didn't adjust the lenses. Room scale of course, the maximal possible space that the vive supports. I got a small introduction with "the Lab". Shooting with the bow was really cool but not so cool that spending 800€ justifies the price, for now. It's like the Kinect for researchers right now. Just affordable to experiment on, though the VR goggles are 6 times more expensive than a Kinect when it came out.
