First day at work and I'm scared appleless what software "engineering" has been done at the car industry. They are so cheap that each controller has no floating-point-unit and they have to do wacky and senseless mapping of number ranges to integers. (for example a range from 0 to 1024 on a 16 bit int with an implied step width of 0.015625). I mean WTF. They have complex software toolchains and test software to manage this madness.
