I've seen a bunch more benchmarks and my view hasn't changed much but it's more competitive as the first review I've seen has indicated. However there were reported weirdness from the drivers. For creative people it might be a hard decision as NVidia cards seem to be more stable and better supported by such software. However for video editing the extra VRAM might be mighty beneficial. It's a tough decision this time but I'm leaning more towards NVidia at the moment although they are slightly more expensive. When the hardware shortages and availability improves it might also improve on the AMD side. At this time I can only save money and drink a lot of tea waiting and observing.
