@thelastgherkin Just because you take the course doesn't commit you to leading that life. It seems daunting now, but there's no barrier railroading you into being stuck with these things. There's dozens of ways you can learn new skills or study new things even whilst you work. I dropped out of college because I'm a lazy failure, but I've still managed to get a job I sort-of enjoy (I think my problem is more that I hate doing things than the job itself). You ARE still in control, and you're intelligent enough and erudite enough to to avoid the outcome you're afraid of. Also: >whilst trying to fund the hobbies that seem to be ridiculed now more than praised. bananas those people. If something brings you joy without harming anyone else, then it's worth doing, regardless of what everyone else has to say on the subject. In the end, at the absolute core, the only person who needs to approve of it is you. The others don't matter.
