@abigpony My argument is that it's not a function of when you joined the fandom, it's a function of how dumb you are. You could join today and be an intelligent meaningful contributor to the community, and equally, you could have joined 8 months ago and contribute nothing but videos of yourself harassing pizza hut staff to draw ponies on your pizza box. Saying OH YOU'RE NEW YOU CAN'T CONTRIBUTE is actually only going to drive the decent contributors OUT because they're smart enough to pick up on the sense that they're not welcome.
