@ceruleanspark I'm pretty sure the group you're talking about just happens to be a minority. Albeit, a very, VERY vocal minority, but a minority nonetheless. Most of the community that I know and interact with regularly tends to take the episodes as they are, a simple TV show. EQD or no.
