@richardedbrony I've played all three titles extensively in open matches and have only had to deal with children, teabagging or homophobic abuse a handful of times.

@richardedbrony The actual pacing and structure of play is radically different. Halo's play, despite the PC gaming segment of the markets desperate protests to the contrary, is strongly derived from the fast and furious playstyle of old school PC FPS's, wheras MW tends to reward a more cautious playstyle and focuses more heavily on your characters abilities and loadout than your raw skill. BF3 is different again, in that its game modes don't actually reward you directly for killing enemies, and instead promote the completion of objectives. You can score highly in BF3 without actually firing a gun.

@richardedbrony Only if you play with said 8-year-olds. If you play with *gasp* people you know (or at least, know aren't idiots), I would imagine you wouldn't get the same problem.

@richardedbrony What's funny is you'd probably write off Halo, COD and Battlefield as being "the same thing" despite each game requiring a distinctly different playstyle and approach.

@richardedbrony Try Men of War: Red Tide. Strategy game with a micro-management feature that turns it into a one soldier/vehicle action game.

@richardedbrony You can't exactly compare an FPS to an RTS. Obviously, the strategy game will be more strategic than a reflex based shooter title.
