Earlier this year, I stopped visiting facebook, but had used the profile as a info page for alternate means to contact me. But since nobody reads profile information of others, I saw no point in keeping that either. Hence now profile will be deleted. I did have a couple of good friends in facebook - one of whom I lost in contact and for the other person, I've made a compromise and will keep in touch via gmail (I have personal email server though, that person doesn't). I did have two other profiles - one for following good political affairs writers, another as an alter ego. Have deleted them already. Thinking back, I really haven't lost much by quitting Facebook. Perhaps many acquaintances. Also I'm one place less from the eyes of surveillance, which matters most. Then there's a side benefit of being away from the addictive ness of Facebook and constant checking for notifications. #facebook
