  10. My Piwigo site is still absolutely battered by spam comments (none of which get through, of course - but it's an endless stream of 'spam announcements' in my mailbox...); I'm totally flummoxed by how they can keep doing it while a simple check makes clear it's totally useless # (some of them are not, of course but I don't see them because they don't waste time and effort on a lost cause ;)) #

  16. After looking at more comment spam on my # site, looking up the current capablities of some of the high-end spammer tools (like automatic proxy checking and sophisticates CAPTCHA solvers defeating current gmail and others' account signup in order to provide automated email verification). "My" spam has the signature of such tools (random gmail addresses, varying IP addresses, varying browser UA strings) # #

  22. Why ? # is good and who are we to kick someone elses # ? e.g. if I would have to make a choice in this case I would select (1) instead of (2). Why? the open registration in (2) is a potential # issue. If your reason is that more people see it, users can subscribe to several groups and would get the message posted in any of those 2. The only "problem" would be when they write a dent and for that there is the Autocomplete plugin.
