@yorkiebrony Actually hot branding isn't near as a bad as it sounds, at least not for cattle anyways. I've seen cattle branded via the burn method and they have a much higher pain tolerance then you'd expect. It's nowhere near torture for the animals, but I guess freeze banding is also good. Microchips can also be easily removed by cattle rustlers, while a simple brand will make all their efforts in vain.

@equestriagaming I have no idea whether there are differences between equine and bovine pain tolerance levels. In order to remove microchips you first have to find them on the body, and that's not always as easy as it sounds. Freeze-marking then cannot be erased, and it remains clear to be seen. And hot branding doesn't always give a clear identification tag. Some hot branding is done that sloppy that ponies cannot be identified from their branding mark. Taking into account the discomfort that comes with hot branding, and the availability of better alternatives I stick to my opinion that hot branding is abuse for which there is no place in the 21st-century.

well...two days of stupid, the last 48 hours have been a time of great dissapointment and great "power struggle" for me ( id rather not get into it for now) But sadly this will only be the beggining for me. Oh and if im being vague its cause its really not something id want to discuss in public or with people i dont "know" real well, im just trying to give a slightly legit reason why i havent been here for a while. Anyhow, Reverting back to the usual for now....and i say that with as much emphasis as this crappy text will allow for.

@comradeconventrix Cold showers and going to the toilet a lot, I hardly get drunk because it passes through quickly. And stay away from salts, it'll increase your bodies water retention and thus prolong the drunk.

@hakupony Yes, your argument is valid. It IS needed that the person interacts with the "pawns" if you want to call them like that. But you don't send a soldier to war naked and without training. You first need to teach him the basics and give him some equipment. The problem is, our educational systems are completely different. Here, if you cheat, it's because you're dumb to an extent in wich you'll never archieve anything in life. School is too easy, and made for the dumb. I know from people that went to Germany, that there the educational system is far better.

@nerthos Okay, you got a point there. I'd not say that a child was "naked" at school (that would be rather awkard ;-) ) because of the contact with parents. if there is a good child-parent relationshi (which is very, very imporatant) the child will "use" his or her parents to get strategies to deal with the things encountered at school. Of course, different parents teach different strategies (mostly without knowing) which is interesting from a kind of socialist standoint. Even in an egalitarian school system, this "Habitus" would result in the children of the educated and rich getting better chances.

@hakupony I don't have a problem with the advantage given to the children of the rich and educated. Even with that, the naturally gifted kids would stil prevail. I had a good relationship with my parents until school. I was learned and everything, yet, as I said, nobody told me "You're smarter, they are just idiotic" My best friend was in the same road, but since I tell her how to avoid conflict, how to control others, and the difference between hers and their natures, things are far better. The bright kids don't need parents to excel at life. They need a sensei to tell them how to prevail, before they're faced with the dangers. People might say my way of tought is racist or whatever, but I really think those who are born with the ability should be helped to be even better, not those who lack it to be equals to those gifted but without the proper training.

@monsterchugger Hm. I have mario bros 3, and i gotta say its an amazing game. Its also amazing that with all its improvements, it was made for the same hardware that brought you super mario bros.

@erfunden Ahhh, zelda II. That game (as my avatar shows) holds a special place in my heart as the first video game i ever played. I never got past the first dungeon before my dog decided to eat the cartridge, but still. I recently got the game again, and im playing through it. I wish i had gotten farther originally though... I stop having nostalgia too fast...
