I mean for real though anything else would be considered incomplete at best in this kind of state, piracy is not a "crime" if releasing broken garbage is a "business"

@scribus The only sane way to enjoy games is to wait until it's on sale. Up to that point most bugs have been squashed and cheap enough to buy two or more games for the price of one new game. I just bought myself Return To Monkey Island. I'm hesitating on buying Metal Wolf Chaos XD. I tried the original on my hacked XBox (copied to the HDD) but the cutscenes stuttered horribly.
-
@adiwan That's why I waited 22 years to even try Everquest!
-
@scribus I waited years for the release of the sequel of my most favorite game, Simon The Sorcerer 2, which was Simon The Sorcerer 3D. When it eventually released it was a MESS. Everything that could be wrong was wrong, from the graphics, the controls, the performance, story, bugs at every corner... I was heartbroken when I was reading the reviews in the magazines. It took years until I was brave enough to face it, when I got the full version with the add-in CD from a PC gaming magazine. Even patched it was still a sewer system worth of kiwi. The 4th and 5th installment of Simon The Sorcerer were better but were soulless imitations of the first two.

Minor pet-peeve: Youtubers that have an additional camera setup for showing a person talking in a 3/4 angle shot and the person is not looking to the camera, when there is no other person in the scene. It feels super off to me. Imitation of the "professional" shot not only takes time in setup and editing but also takes me, the viewer, out of the viewing experience. The person is talking to the viewer and then suddenly not and somehow still.

Bought myself two "chocolate" tomato plants. I'm curious if they really taste chocolatey. Gonna have to wait a few months.

I LOVE POWER TOOLS.... I got myself a basic miter saw, however it is too powerful for its own sake, especially for my electrical box. I can only operate on the circuit where I have my washing machine. It has a 15A breaker, where the other circuits have only 10A. In theory I can use it there as well, but the startup power draw spikes too much for the breaker. I could buy a soft starter but it costs as much as the miter saw itself. At that point I could buy a better miter saw with a soft starter built in.

It hurts when about 150€ were converted to C02 and NO. I blew one and a half fuel tanks just to visit my grandparents and to take my mother back home (she was got there by bus).

I built myself a small little "phone holder" for my car. In the middle console, between the console and the shift stick, there is a little open compartment to store small things. I used the space to put my phone when driving, however it's impossible to throw a glance on the map when navigating when the phone is buried in a well. So I grabbed some off-cuts from my raised bed project, measured some critical dimensions in the car, and then cut the wood pieces with my mini bandsaw. I used cyanoacrylate (super glue) to put everything together. It holds remarkably well. Surprisingly well. I had to fix my work a few times and the glue was so strong I couldn't pull the parts apart. I had to use my saw at the seam. After all has been done I added some felt everywhere, so the phone doesn't slide in the curve and the whole doesn't rattle in the compartment.

With Lost Judgment (finally) beaten, that is every single mainline Yakuza game under my belt. I started Yakuza Kiwami around this time in 2023, so I’ve been at it for about a year. …what do I do now?

@zeldatra I'm also inflicted with the same life question. I'm suffering for any new RGG game while contemplating if other things in life can fill out the void but never can. You can play Ishin. If you're adventurous you may play Kenzan (the other that plays in old Japan) or Kurohyou 1 and 2 (the PSP games).

@adiwan Kurohyo is probably where I’ll end up next.

I'm on the verge of buying a Sony Xperia 10 V. I have more and more problems with my Blackberry's battery performance and Android 8 is not the newest anymore. Also whenever I wanted to look up something the browser performance got abysmal. I have modest requirements for my mobile device so I don't need a flagship phone. I want a 3.5mm audio jack, a decent browsing experience, a micro SD slot, and NO STUPID NOTCH on the display. I found one for 320€. It's in the ballpark of when I bought my Blackberry. I think about it a few more days before I'll bite the bullet.

I miss the distinction between the different defense types in D&D 5e. In 4th edition there was other than AC also Reflex (DEX, INT), Will (WIS, CHA), and Fortitude (STR, CON). I have a slight distaste for the amount of spells and attacks that require saving throws in 5e. In 5e it's easy to resolve a simple attack as it has only one value to check against, however a spell caster might not wear strong armor but has to rely on luck. I'm aware that saving throws are kinda the inverse of attacks but I don't like the mechanic direction and implicit flavoring. I guess in 5e it's slightly easier for a DM to keep track of.

I filled all my raised beds with gravel at the bottom for drainage and then composted earth from the store. 320 litres of stinky earth. I just finished putting in all the tomato plants that I could. A few pots were contaminated with my attempt to grow jalaños. I reused the earth and failed to remove the seeds. The jalapeños decided to take a lot longer and grew alongside the tomato. I wait a little bit until it's clear what's what.

On the one hoof, messing up homemade tortillas was a bummer. On the other, I managed to accidentally make a very delicious pizza crust. Task failed successfully?

Been playing FTL lately again. I play it on easy and the game still kicks my butt. I've unlocked all A-type and B-type ships (except Lanius Cruiser) and am two ships short of all C-type ones. Still missing the last unlockable ship as I didn't find the unknown sector with the rock ship but I'm on my way to do it with all successful B-type ship runs.
