  1. Oh god. Starting chapter 3 at 22 hours. At least I finished the side adventure.

  2. I addictively played the game for 8 hours straight with minor pauses to grab a snack and go to the toilet. It is just past midnight here and I am almost mad because I'm too tired to continue and have to work tomorrow.

  3. @zeldatra Yeah. I had to look up a few times. Thankfully Steam displayed the remaining hours until release. I had prealoaded it yesterday, however minutes after the official release it wasn't able to start because my Steam client wasn't aware of the release. A restart of the client fixed it.

  4. It's unhinged one-eyed man time!

  5. The preload has begun. In 18 hours my free time will be occupied only by Majima.

  6. Next time I copy something and 3d-model it I will also 3d-model the part that is meant for. I had to scrap a few prints too many because I was too dumb to notice that the correction I wanted to make was made in the wrong direction. Instead of closing a gap of 3mm I widened the gap by that amount.

  7. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on Disney+ is pretty decent. The 3D-cell-shaded look is odd at times but over all it works well enough.

  8. @zeldatra Yeah, me too. The main reason I didn't ordered earlier was that I was short on money, and then I wasn't sure if it runs at all.

  9. Preordered the upcoming Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I'm such a RGG simp.

  10. My leather phone case broke. More precisely the plastic parts broke. The plastic was disintegrating for a while now but it broke catastrophically in half. I'm glad I have some basic CAD skills. I already 3d-printed the first prototype but I mis-measured a few dimensions because it was hard to reach them with the calipers. Some other dimensions on the other hand were wrong just because I was dumb.

  11. Was at the funeral of my grandfather (mother's side) this weekend. I'm not sad. He barely moved because of pain and was weak all-around. It didn't help that he got his 7th heart-attack/stroke in his life-time. My grandmother he has left has severe dementia and has forgotten the day after that the funeral happened. She was stubborn to take any medication that could slow down that process in the past years. When things go the way they are currently the next funeral could happen this year.

  12. @scribus me too. I was in the middle lane. I had plenty of room and I didn't have anyone around me.

  13. I almost crashed my car. I was driving on the Autobahn while it was heavily snowing. There was so much snow that snow was piling up and it was only feasible to drive in the tracks of the other cars. I got caught up in the side of the tyre tracks and was skidding and slipping left and right so much I almost spin out. Luckily my experiences with racing games could avoid that by steering against the skidding direction.

  14. @zeldatra For some reason I stumble upon reviews of those emulation machines and even now they are not always delivering the proper performance to even run NES games at a smooth performance. PS2 games, even PS1 and Dreamcast are a joke. There are only few exceptions where they run well enough for an enjoyable experience. The famiclone I had in the 90s was a weird "handheld" one. It was a big black "Game Gear"-like case without a screen that plugged directly into a AC/DC adaptor and it needed to be connected with a RF coax cable to the TV. It really sucked as over time both power and TV plugs on it got loose.

  15. Children should play a bootleg console at least once in their lives. A good 'ol famiclone. A NES on a chip or anything that promises 99999999 games in one but they are repeats or just start at a different level. This kind of disappointment and wonder is a unique brew of an experience that is both cheap and rich in questionable fun. A lie with an upside. Bonus points if they are actually rom hacks with the weirdest promises.

  17. @scribus I think of Avatar The Last Airbender series first, then Ultima.

  18. Whenever I read "Avatar" I'm always disappointed when it is about James Cameron's crap.

  20. I'm far from being fat. It shocked me that the belt buckle of my belt broke. It broke from material fatigue. The part that broke was in particular that what is attached to the leather belt. I practically wore the belt for over 4 years, almost daily. Luckily it happened at home. It'd have been embarrassing anywhere else.

  21. I HATE GOING TO IKEA. I wanted to buy their pegboard for some organization. Especially there are tons of 3d-printable stuff for that and it is reasonably cheap. However the way to, being at, and the way from IKEA is dreadful. Too many people. Too many cars. Too many people without who are absent-minded. It took half an hour longer than needed in an ideal situation.

  23. Ah... The onboarding process to a new project is always littered with problems. Somehow all my system accesses are not configured and even more strangely days after getting an account it is marked for deletion.

  24. @scribus So far it hasn't happened to me. In fact I did a speed change to a small portion and it correctly identified that I can enter a maximum speed value until it doesn't fit on the track because a following clip is in its way. However I have to enter that value manually. Clunky but it works.

  25. The video editor Kdenlive is not so bad. I've been playing with it since it is stable for a long while and the last time I used it was 10 years ago when I was doing my Bachelor thesis. And back then it was in a buggy alpha state. There are however still tons of room for improvements. Especially in the effects department, and the adding and removal of video and audio tracks. For some reason once the project has been initialized you cannot add more tracks. In the audio department I'd like to have bezier curves in the track view to adjust the volume. At least it isn't crashing.

  26. Got into a project that was adjacent to an old project. It's cool to see that my old accounts and permissions weren't removed.

  27. Played Balatro because of the hype. It is an insidiously perfect Skinner Box. It is the right amount of strategy and luck, combined with overstimulation by sound and animation, that I give a warning to everyone not to play when they value their own time. In theory it is not a bad game, however all of its design is so casinofied, that I have to give a warning not to play it.

  28. I HAAATE that people at my company misuse PDFs and PowerPoint slides as a replacement for internal pages that could be HTML.

  29. Got myself 100 flower pots for super cheap. The kind of thin plastic and a couple of holes on the bottom. I got them for when my tomatoes have outgrown the initial germination phase. I'm only missing a sack of special earth for germination that has less nutrients to promote root growth. I plan to start growing mid February at the latest.

  30. @scribus Cleaning cloths have sometimes strangest odors. Whenever I got free one-time-use ones they smelled more often than not very unappealing. Similarly, the wiper fluid (with anti-freeze) for my car I bought for this winter has the nastiest smells close to the point wanting to replace it. The one I had before was way better and had the usual smell of isopropanol, which I prefer.
