@scribus BuT rEd OnEs LoOk BeTtEr! Yeah... I have currently a hand full of green ones on my plants at this moment. I'll harvest them tomorrow. Hopefully they won't stab my tongue with a hot dagger like the red ones.
-
One jalapeno in my salad got me the wrong way. I cut it too small to remove it, too much salad to toss out. I ate through all of it and with enough ranch dressing it got less of a sting.
The current Jalapeno plants are dying, so this season I will plant only one or two and give them more care. Currently my 4 Jalapeno and 1 Cayenne are putting out weekly one or two ripe deep red chilis. Maybe I should collect them when they are still green. -
My tomato plants are not that well developed as anticipated. I guess keeping them in the kitchen at the window towards the north side wasn't the brightest idea. My mother has some tomato plants of her own growing and planted them a little bit later than me, but hers are looking healthier all around. She kept them towards the south window.

Cleaning up my cellar is not easy. So many little things, randomly thrown into boxes. They need to be sorted, somehow. Because they are so randomly thrown together it takes way too much space, twice or thrice more than it'd be sorted. For example a half-sorted one was stuff for my bicylces. I used small foldable plastic basket to seperate a few items to make them more accessible. One basket for brakes and inner tubes, one for bells and attachmets, one for reflectors and lights, one for bicycle tools like a 13mm wrench for the wheel hub nuts or a chain separator.

I'm waiting for a possible release of a new Sony Xperia 10 phone in May. The Xperia 10 VI was close to what I want. I could buy last year's but rumors are a new one will be released soon. I guess I can live a month or two with a dying battery. It is my best shot of getting a decent phone with a headphone jack, no camera punch-hole or notch, and a straight-forward UI, and a somewhat OK long software support period with updates. I hope it'll be about the same price and actually worth it.

@scribus Just to be clear: Lower German is not that common, however in casual conversation it has some foothold in everyday use, especially common expressions and traditional stuff like in food or handiwork or hunting. In comparison the Bavarian dialect is 20 times more common. It is not dead but there is definitely a dying trend. A local broadcaster has a one hour news block that uses lower German throughout.
-
@scribus East Frisea up to Hamburg is the main turf of lower German also called "Plattdeutsch" but it is also "common" up north along the coast of the North Sea. Some words are also heard in south Lower Saxony to the Harz mountains. I use sometimes "moin" because it is universally applicable at any time of day and it is short.
-
Working for a project in northern Germany. Every morning it begins with everyone greeting with "moin". It is not a abbreviation for "morning" but it is an old lower German word for "good" and "pleasant".

I wanted to finish my 3d printer repairs but NO, the self-designed part cooling fan ducts had to be redesigned 6 times because of some dumb issues. On top of that I had some print failures.

The air duct I was using for years is utterly apple. With my latest attempt I saw that the fan has not enough pressure to push the air through. I only noticed it now. I modeled one myself with less restriction in flow. I'm confident that it is better but I didn't use any simulations or other verification.

For me it is easier to recreate a 3d model in CAD than to do the modification I need in blender. Due to a new hotend I grabbed a part cooling fan duct off the Internet and had to do some modifications to make it work. I needed to extend some parts for clearance. Yeah... I could do that in blender with not a lot of problems BUT now it is easier for me because I have a CAD model now. It only took me 30 minutes to recreate. Once I used Cinema 4D and it was easier to grasp the workflow and UI for teenage me than blender.

Almost repaired my 3d printers. Printer one got a mainboard replacement and a new hotend and a new extruder. The other had already the upgraded mainboard but was mostly disassembled for another hotend (E3D V6) but it was too difficult because I had to reengineer the mounts and cooling so I stopped that due to lack of motivation. That one also got a new hotend and a new extruder. Both need new matching part cooling fan ducts for the new hotend. Also I have to compile my own firmware. Maybe tomorrow I will have 4 working FDM printers again.

@scribus I have one Cayenne plant and 5 Jalapeno. They don't bear a lot of fruit but right now I am plenty served by them. I planted seeds for their replacement, as they are supposed to be living about one year. I don't get cold sweat or anything but their hotness can be slightly overwhelming. Maybe I need them to cook for a lot longer. They were basically fresh when I put them into the sauce. As of now I wouldn't go eating any hotter stuff than that.

I've grown weak. My capsaicin resistance is barely existing.

Putting 3 ripe jalapeno chilies into my pasta was too much.

Slowly but surely everything gets to a point I'm seeing an improvement using Gridfinity after printing several spools of filament. Almost all my screws are organized, even the ones from my box or random screws.I won't stop but it will slow down a little bit as I need more cabinets with drawers as it is probably the most ideal environment.

I am 3d printing Gridfinity bins for weeks and yet it isn't enough. There is more things to organize. More things to put into bins. Printing grids, printing bins, printing labels, stacking bins, getting more metal cabinets, more to put into.

I *love* runny varnish. I was applying clear matte varnish on my wooden box and of course it had to run and form blobs. I thought my first coat was even enough and not too thick. Luckily only a few sides had those blobs and I could sand them down while half-cured and apply a second thinner coat of varnish.

I did a second coating of the "black" wood stain. After some drying time it turned from dark purple to something I'd call black. A few minor spots needs another round of treatment because I've missed them or the wood didn't want to absorb the stain that well. Tomorrow I'll add a coat or two of clear varnish. After that I need to paint the inside with some acrylic paint to hide my finger prints and blotches from the stain (thankfully I used gloves). Another idea I have is to glue in a ferromagnetic plate on the inside of the lid for some magnetic storage options....

At the flea market I bought a big wooden box for quite cheap. It was once a box with painting supplies and I plan to make it a box for miniature painting supplies. I ripped out the wooden dividers, filled some nail holes, sanded all the surfaces, and a few moments ago I stained the outside black. More like very dark purple. Not what I wanted but I can live with the slight purple tint. Also I finished printing corner protectors and most of the Gridfinity inserts for drop bottles for Army Painter paint.

The newest Humble Bundle has a MLP game. I ain't paying 14 Bucks to get that.

Buy cheap, get garbage. I bought myself a 3-tiered planter for herbs like parsley, chive, and majoram. The instructions had an error, the first step made assembling harder, and the final pieces did not fit. I had to use my bandsaw to make them fit. The wood and pre-drills are also cheap and rough. I was close to return it.

I found the real culprit. It was a blob of PETG in the middle of the heat break. It was too far to be melted properly but close enough to let through a teeny tiny bit. It blocked the filament going through the nozzle at the expected rate. I tried to drill out the blob but I damaged the heat break and some of the threads in the heat block. Could have find it out sooner but the few days ago I couldn't be bothered to fully disassemble the hotend. As soon as the replacement arrives the assembly should be fairly quick. I can reuse the thermistor and heat cartridge. And the over all geometry and screw points should be the same too.

A few days ago one 3d printer almost gone to flames and now the next one stopped extruding, I am done for today troubleshooting that after wasting more than half an hour changing nozzle, the bowden tube, testing for pinch points... I guess it is the extruder stepper motor or the main board stepper driver. Uuugh.... I want a new 3d printer.

@zeldatra After the great dissolution finding work is hard. The orphanage needs the money. Also it is funny that the main character is named "Michi". After Suzuki Taichi and Joryu, Kiryu named himself after a mascot.

Yesterday, when I was starting a 3d-printing job, I was wondering why there was a funny plastic-y smell and why it took so long for the heat bed to heat up. A quite toasty surprise https://i.imgur.com/2O2CJsk.jpeg

Watching the anime "KonoSuba". It is certainly degenerate. It is of a question if me watching gives me the same property by the adjacent relation. The MC is overly horny, all the women have huge wobbly bazongas, a woman of the main cast is deriving huge pleasure from being hurt, embarrassed, and all kinds of S&M.

I fell into the bardcore rabbit hole. Great for listening while doing something, especially those tracks without vocals.

Buying tomato seeds from semi-professionals or hobbyists on ebay is such a gamble. About 1/4 of all the seeds did not grow or very delayed.

The live-action Lilo & Stitch movie looks like a soulless husk. The actors are fine in the trailer. Everything else is just a huge pile of grape. The youtube comments below the trailer show how much Disney brain rot exist. I am clearly exaggerating but it is close. It will probably be like the other live-action films and milk enough money out of people's wallets to warrant yet another film.
What will be next? Oliver & Co live-action? The Black Cauldron live-action? Song of the South remake/live-action?about 3 months ago from web
