I spoiled myself with a game treat and bought the game Tunic. It's a fine game. It is a cross between Zelda and Dark Souls. I had quite some fun but oh boy it is hard. Thankfully there is an accessibility option to make it easy. I used it only two times because my thumbs were already hurting enough and I didn't want to start a boss fight 100 times over. It is best to get into the game blind. I do admit that I looked up stuff at the end of the game because the puzzles to get the true ending are hard as heck and I have a life beyond that game.

@scribus It looks damn good but I'm not really in a mood for a brawler. Back in the day I played more Power Rangers The Movie on SNES because I didn't have Turtles in Time (only played as a rental at a friend's house).

Playing Metal Gear Solid again... I bodyslammed Meryl while she was disguised because I recognized her walk cycle and I wanted to see what would happen. Nothing happens, she just sprints into her next cutscene to prevent you from impeding her any further. And then she still claims to have gotten the jump on you.

@scribus This is why I always enjoyed the mostly-unscripted nature of the later Fallouts & Elder Scrolls. New Vegas particularly introduces you to a major antagonist (or ally, if you choose to go that route...) fairly early on, while you’re on your way to a story quest, and you can just let him do his thing, or, if you have the firepower, you can just FrankerZin shoot him and he won’t appear again for the rest of the game. (And then you can shoot his replacement later, too!)

@adiwan This here: http://www.infiniteneslives.com/nesmaker.php They have a kit with a board, cartridge shell, and the flasher-device-thing, and it's supposed to be basically a one-button procedure with the NESMaker software. I'm sure I'll end up with both devices, anyway. Haha Just trying to decide for today. Probably will end up putting it off until I have a job again...
-
@scribus I'd get an Everdrive first because it seems to be a more versatile tool. I read that there is an unofficial firmware for the Everdrive that supports the mapper of NESMaker games.

@adiwan He is now, but I remember some backlash when he was introduced. Personally, I was just sick of new spider-folk, which I have since recanted. Spider-Verse ruled!!
-
@scribus Hm. I agree that there are too many spider-themed super heroes at Marvel. Regular Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Spider Gwen, Silk, British Spider Man... There was a comic event with all of the spider people but I didn't care to read it. The recent Spider-Verse movie was splendid. I quite enjoyed it.

@adiwan Spider-Woman is kind of weird, too. Isn't she more about something like the "Web" of Fate, or something?

I just remembered For Honor. The video game where you could live out your fantasy of being a knight and play with a sword. Alternatively a Viking or ?Samurai? if you were one of 'those' people.
I would really like a game like that on the Nintendo Switch, but focused on couch-play instead of whatever For Honor's main aim was.Wednesday, 17-Apr-19 23:04:15 UTC from web- Jonathan Chouinard likes this.

@drinkingpony I just stumbled across a documentary (?) on Netflix about that game! Have yet to watch it, and never played, but the concept sounds neat. !vgp !movies
-
@scribus It was a great concept, but the lack of dedicated servers (Meaning P2P networking, with the game selecting the fastest 'node' as host, like with CoD on the XboX360, a thing that everypony and everyhuman hated) lack of balance, and dishonourable killings in a game called 'For Honor' ultimately brought nothing but toxicity. There even was a day-of-infamy, orchestrated by Reddit, to have a day of NOT playing the game trying to make the dev's aware that the game had huge problems.

@scribus I'm powering through the main quests and I don't find many of those Korok seeds to increase my inventory space. Since I don't find any (because I'm not exploring much) it's a struggle to keep a good stock of good weapons. I haven't any problems that I didn't have any but it's a small struggle.

@scribus On a scale where 10 represents 'I enjoyed my popcorn and the fighting eye-candy' and 1 is 'the stupid plot prevented me from enjoying the movie'. I guess you would rate it about a 6 or a 7 then ?

@drinkingpony Yeah, 7 sounds fair.

@scribus I'll be honest, I thought I was going to be called a Fluffle Puffed off, xenophobic, MRA cuck for even daring to ask the question like that. But yeah, I too give it about a 7.

"Shin Godzilla" is my new favorite !movie because it is all about a group of renegade low- and mid-level bureaucrats bucking the system to actually get something done in the face of obvious impending disaster that the officials refuse to move on.
