  1. @nerthos I was trying to make a point regarding that people like you know exactly what they click on. And what goes around comes around in the end. Like if you click on more clickbait, you will no doubt be bombarded with more clickbaity articles to click on as a direct result. And the problem with actually reading clickbaity articles is that they are SOO incredibly bias all the time that it could be considered poison for your brain.

  2. @moonman Well, that would explain a few things *sigh*. Also the only reason why Facebook is so good at it now is because it seems to be an acceptable norm these days. Everybody has it now, and clickbaity articles about "how not having a Facebook account with accessible profile when you are job-hunting is a bad thing" probably only added to the "everybody needs Facebook !"-effect. I detest Facebook for pretty much all those reasons we have mentioned sofar, and a few personal ones. As such I can't wait for a curve like https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/i_dont_own_a_tv.png to become reality for Facebook.

  3. @nerthos Pretty sure it would at least try to pin Animoo-Bullcrap on you though. But you are probably a shining example of people to smart to fall for this, or clickbait.

  4. @moonman And how closely is this related to the effect that Facebook has an algorithm that pushes the things you agree with the most to the forefront ? ( so you see it quicker and can react with it more. I think, I have never used Facebook ( and probably never will ) since the "echo-chamber"-effect and "hugbox"-effect will drive me insane... probably )

  5. @moonman And that is living proof of why I want to be like Hank Scorpio one day. Though yes, I see your point and feel for you ( due to loss of minions friends thanks to those memes ) ... Though I must confess that I do not really know what this "Facebook Derangement Syndrome" of which you speak actually is

  6. @moonman You phrase that like I have yet to encounter a different kind of meme, a "good meme".

  7. @nerthos ... I only watched the Dutch dub, I don't remember much whip sounds. Should I check out some English dubs ?

  8. @thelastgherkin Nono, REAL nerds watch The Big Bang Theory with all the laugh-track cut out. Now the episodes are only 10 minutes in length.

    Seriously, what the hell ?

  14. @weerosie Thank you. Also it is probably not ever sunny enough in here for any sort of tree to sprout any sort of flower. So I have basically decided to grow stuff for the sake of watching them grow. Also they do seem to provide an adequate amount of heat absorbtion. Which is cool since even in winter-time I can not seem to get my house below 24 degrees C ( 75F ) because my neighbours probably do not know how to work the thermostat. ( that or they are always cold ).

I can not put the lime-tree outside though, the winter would kill it, but were any of my taller apple spoutlings still alive I'd probably bury them outside on strategic locations, perhaps with some sort of letter reading "apple tree experiment #" to keep rogue horticulturists at bay, just to see what happens.

  15. Yay I am bowling with some friends. Lowest score is best score, right guys ? ... Guys ?

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 18:09:08 UTC from MuSTArDroid
  16. @weerosie I was just growing random seeds harvested from everyday life. So I tried multiple apples ( they all sprouted about 10 cm, then died ), pears ( dito ), chestnut ( double height, then died ), mango ( might die soon ? ). And finally a lime, which is now larger than 2 meter ( 6 foot ) and still growing. I never did thow in much money into this sidehobby save for some soil, coco peat, and martocaria seed ( which are 1 year plants/flowers, which worked quite nicely )

  17. @weerosie I must bequeath, that makes me a tad jealous. I am doingy best with a windowstill though. It works, kinda :)

  18. @mushi I can't really judge on how that relates to the furry fandom :o

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 16:42:42 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  19. @mushi Wait, I thought they said that the target demographic was going to be furries, not children. Because I can totally see such a "5 minutes ago something happened, lets try to hammer the point home" happening in movies catering to kids. I am not saying that they should throw more adult things in there than paying the rent but... c'mon.

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 13:44:06 UTC from web in context
  20. @mushi So you mean a "my moral compass points left" "well my moral compass points right" *conflict of how to resolve* kinda thing ? Well that's worse.

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 13:33:52 UTC from web in context
  21. @weerosie Are you trying/attempting some sort of windowstill garden ?

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 13:31:03 UTC from web in context
  22. @mushi Oh, I hate it when they do that.

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 13:25:54 UTC from web in context
  23. @mushi "forced a bit too much" sounds really ambiguous when talking about a movie which has been shouted from the rooftops by a couple of die-hard furry-fandom people I know, sometimes literally. I do hope you mean story, narrative, plotline, caracter progression, or something like that ?

Sunday, 10-Apr-16 13:21:49 UTC from web in context
  24. @mushi What would you rate the movie Zootopia as ? where a 10 is "CINEMA !!!" 5 is "I guess it is gonna be on TV at some point" and a 1 is "I guess you could buy this at a flea-market for 25 cents if you wanted a frisbee or something"

  28. @moonman Soo, for the uninitiated like me, who is NPR ? Bonuspoints if you could directly link me to that tidbit :)

  29. @spots I agree. Though if I wanted to have a superpower like that, I would want the power to use other people's brainpower. You know, you could just telepathically like ask them "How would you say ... ?" and just speak in their native tongue. Also you could walk into any service-based thing saying "Hey I got a problem and thanks for the support". Now would that drive me mad ? Absolutely, that is why I want an off-button build in somewhere :)
