  1. @taknamay I can't see that YouTube on mobile. But seen as you linked an IHE episode my mind goes places... Like "Isn't everything that is popular/liked/relatable eventually becomming memes ?" and "To what level are meme's not just bastarized bits of culture ?" ... The only way to not become a meme is to be a boring unlikeable unrelatable alien jackhole ?... But that's worse than memes :o

  2. @hfaust trying to read this makes me realise just how function impaired my brain is with this level of headache >_<

  3. @hfaust Why would Oracle/someone sue someone/Oracle this time 'rond ?

  4. @hfaust Hey cool, that exists. Now I can go read my Dune-book collection, Tom Clancy collection, and those others which are in a rather dusty part of my hard drive... "50 tinten grijs" ?!? how did that get on here ? ... My thanks :)

  5. My e-reader seems to not support EPUB files it seems. But MOBI files are fine ( as demonstrated by the 1984 I downloaded in multiple file.extention types ) ... I wonder if there is an offline converter program that works for a situation like this. Also I should probably find myself some good books to actually read on the thing.

  6. @pennyfortheguy Oh, yeah, my point, forgot to add my point. I think that the backstory from what I have gathered sofar is WAY more interesting than what the game has shown sofar. They could have done much more interesting things in the game with it too. But too bad it is an action-packed thing where people wear shield belts instead of a realistic ghost-recon where you have to fight off a caved in society aswell as burn the bodies of the turned. ... Bullet sponge enemies are horseapples !

  7. @pennyfortheguy Aww, I am watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25TrOPnL2IQ right now and the backstory is at least in my view right now way more interesting than what I have seen from the game softar (on another tab, I am almost halfway through it, looks rather bad. Link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTBcuZTPIEk , it's a review by Angry Joe ) . The movie-thing takes another 10 minutes or so to DL according to Deluge.

  8. @moonman this reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWf_hp0zdOs ( note : questionably safe for work, blood, german, military-stigmata, arguably world-culture )

  9. @pennyfortheguy It's a short movie about a game ? Or a short movie about a story on which a game was formulated ? ... Well I do not think I will lose anything by watching this thing anyway, I'll let you know if I liked it :)

  11. "So will you be buying Tom Clancy's the Division ?" I asked a friend, and he replied with "Naw man, I already have Borderlands 2" ... And then he explained the similarities. I can totally see most of his points. I'm probably gonna wait for a HUGE discount anyway though.

  12. @thelastgherkin Because your logic and reasoning skills prevent you from hopping onto a bandwagon uneducated ? and yet you stand by powerless as others do it ? Yeah that would make me really angry too.

  13. @thelastgherkin Oh wow... *does some research into the topic* ... How the intentions of a Facebook campaign can be clear-through but once you do some digging completely condemn such a campaign. Trying to appeal to humanity/sympathy because the same person has a daughter and a pretty emotional black&white picture is really condemnable if the person in question pleaded guilty to things like child-grooming. ... Also I learned today that child-grooming is a thing.

  14. @pennyfortheguy Kinda hard not to over-think everything when the people you're working with are either 100% doing that or are asking you critical pragmatic questions because of it. But thanks :) ... I should probably try again to find a debate-team or something and drag a few of my clients into it, they'd probably like it too :) ( since I figure they do this kinda stuff for 'sport' )

  16. @rarity That's probably a really overlooked right to begin with. Having a soldier with a gun showing up forcing your silence in the modern western world is unthinkable.

  18. @rarity I am pretty sure that a storeowner anywhere is just as free to remove you from it's property as that you are free to tell how chemtrails are real. But the storeowner can not stop you from talking about it.

  19. @narwhal 1> I'm more afraid that when we start banning parts of the vocabulary that there might be little end in sight. Just a fear and/or nagging part at the back of my head. Quite hard to rationalise with. 2> I am not a politician nor am I trained in any artform of diplomacy, words are not easy either and neither of those examples convey what I think of some systems. 3> There is a big differense in being a dick and being a inconsidderate dick. I am not going to scrap words out of my dictionary just because it might offend people who do not understand how I use the word, possibly. However making damn sure not to swear with cancer in the cancer wing of a hospital is a way different ballpark.

  20. @rarity Isn't free speech more about not preventing people to speak and their ability to listen ( or stop listening ) to anyone whenever they please ? As such you are always able to say whatever you want but not force anyone to listen ? ( except for exceptions, like hate-speech, slander, and some others )

Friday, 25-Mar-16 01:25:33 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  21. @hfaust oh wow. But no, I meant to ask if there are/were any more words ever given up for the banwagon. I only know of 2.

Friday, 25-Mar-16 01:20:35 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  22. @mrmattimation I'd agree with you on all but one thing, "everyday conversation". If I want to use exageration as tool to get my point across, such as "I think that the prison system in the USA is a retarded mess" or "I think that people who deliberately say hurtfull stuff all the time might be a wee bit retarded" I should well be able to do so. If we were banned from using the word we would just find another word anyway, and another, and another, at enfinitum. It's way simpler to abide by the rule "Don't be a dick".

  23. @hfaust Any more examples that are commonly known ?

Friday, 25-Mar-16 01:00:13 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  24. @hfaust Hmm, that is a common thing ? I've actually only heard about "ban bossy", you mean to say that was not a new concept ?

Friday, 25-Mar-16 00:55:36 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  25. @zennx I know a few cretins who would pass it on as thruth the moment they hear it, yes. I'll use small words when they open their filthy mouth. However, no need to do that today, it was brought to me like "Did you hear that they banned a word ?". I'm glad this turned to a polite conversation and not a "small word showcase" :)

  26. @hfaust @m14brony the only sourses I can find on this is an old 2012 article about regarding "banning the word retarded" in medical(field/expertise) textbooks. But my internet&google-fu are severely retarded when on a mobile phone.

  27. @thelastgherkin It is becomming more and more difficult for me to tell when you're joking.
