!art It's been a while. These are some sketches I was throwing around, all done by the power of my finger. I doubt I'll ever fully realize any of this, but eh, it's cool. I've used the bottom right one as my avatar for several websites, even though it's poorly drawn. Pixel artists: what pre-made palettes do you use? or, if you make your own, how do you develop your palettes?

@caret7 The palettes used in pixel art depend heavily on things like the style you're going for, the size of the image, whether you're doing a landscape or a figure, etc. The only real suggestion I can give is limiting yourself to 3-4 shades for a color is generally a good starting point to avoid overshading. Check out the rendering limitations for various old consoles and base your palettes on those.

Today is the birthday of one of my favourite musicians, Lou Reed, so I decided to do a portrait in tribute of his legacy. Much of his work has had not only a profound impact on the world of music but also on me personally as both a musician and artist. He would've been 73 were he alive today.
