  6. @communistprimemon tangent.dune.net port 8789 is what I just gleaned from the Blogspot link in the profile for @scribus ... I will try to connect, now.

  7. @fnordly Windows is like a gateway. It is a system which shouldn't be muddle with, unless you know what you are doing and are willing to go without gaming as you get it adjusted to what you think your operating system should be like from your perspective as a gamer and user of apps.

  8. @citrusrain Linux was created, because PC-DOS was made for Personal Computing, and Unix was made for commercial enterprise, and BSD was made for education but was too restrictive for education for commercial enterprise in education and personal computing.

  9. @citrusrain Collect hardware; do what you need to do to get it running; get it to run Linux and Apache and mod_php; upgrade from Redhat OSX Windows 7 to 32-bit XP with SP3; install and modify GTA San Andreas; ... profit.

  10. @citrusrain Windows has been open-sourced since Microsoft tried to get people to "like" MS-DOS 5.0 over version 3.3 which fits neatly on a couple of 360k floppy disks.

  12. @citrusrain PHP is Pinky Pie's Hypertext Purposely Purplexing Markup Language. There is LAMP which is Lame (the mp3 encoder), Apple Blossom's family's nemesis Apache web server configuration language, MyLittleSquirrel (the most popular implementation of the enwp.org/SPARQL database)... The P in LAMP is for Ponies: the Python Pony, the Perl Pony, the PHP recursory pony... but @scribus is the name of a dude that wears a white hat. While we need more ponies wearing white hats and there needs to be a pony based programming language, maybe we should call the new language PHP. That would really upset some people like the ones that think that they have some sort of intellectual property rights to the expansion of PHP or the pronunciation of SQL.

  13. Hi! My name is OJ Simpson and the Lawnmower Man. Any of y'all remember me? I rode with the RDN back before the beginning of the September of 1993. Before AOL usurped the NNTP and the BBS dwindled, all electronic messaging was delivered by the pony express. In the early hours, sometimes only on the weekends, but when long distance telephone rates were lower and the lines were less busy, desktop PCs would ring each other up and go to swapping. I wonder if there were desktop ponies running on any of them.

  18. Hi again, all. How is everyone doing? I have been away for a bit. What did I miss? It seems that the Archive.rainbowdash.net is presently offline. Does anypony have any interest in it? I do. I had copied all of the first few articles (mainly pages for projects) and will put them up as I dig them up. It is understandable that it is hard to maintain it, as I am finding it difficult to maintain my local copy. If anyone wants to play with it: bearynice.dyndns.org/wiki ... I have got to go and mow. Y'all have a ball, I'll be back in a bit.

  19. @astra Thank you!!!1! I am doing wondrously well playing with the new media. My mom recently bought a nice and cheap Acer laptop with Windows 7, and I installed Cygwin, Apache, PHP, Mediawiki, so I can work on a local copy of the archive.rainbowdash.net and the mlp.wikia.com, and I could conceptually install the software that powers the RDN, but that would be only for educational purposes, as the money is in setting up a quick and easy setup for a pony to use to participate in these vast, educational communities such as anything Wikipedia related or FIM related or Doctor Who related by reading and playing games and writing and ***SPUFF*** (end of transmission)

  20. @leonkfox The poor thing... If y'all'ould just leave her alone, she is got to get all these trees cleaned for nightfall, and she has to go and sit and smoke for a minute to get her bearings so that she can get on to the money making part of'er bidness.

  22. Right. It looks like tow or three have checked my link and none have registered and there has been creepingly more spam at this Status Net. I have been working with a spam prevention system that is already being used for things like the RDN. Search.cpan.org/dist/Blog-Spam or just wait, and I will hook you up. Anyway: wiki: fnordly.dyndns.org and love: y'all at rainbowdash.net and hate: haters gonna hate and going outside for a few in five minutes.

  24. Hello all. Anyone want to play with the global pony switch? I am learning about Wikia and the Videolan.org and enwp.org/FOAF and have a spartan server set up at http://fnordly.dyndns.org/wiki and would love it if y'all would play with it. Whatever. It is all good. Be forewarned that anything that you say or do can be held against you. If I told you that I like your body, would you hold it against me? Anyway, I will just leave this link here and go and mow and try to see what happens later.

  26. Dear Comedy Central, It looks like I can't see the whole episode from yesterday. Am I missing something, or do you want me to step away from the desktop and turn on the wall-tube? I used to watch the few-hours-old only-news-you-need and share it with my hundreds of friends on Facebook, but maybe I should just encourage them to turn off their cable and learn to read. Sincerely, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack and yours, truly, Twi.

  28. It took a minute for me to figure out that Google+ wanted me to specify my gender before continuing, as it already new my full name from Gmail. I wonder, though, what would be the application of selecting "other" as a gender?

  30. http://haganbmjtemp.webs.com/whining.html ... if anyone wonders what that subtle background music is. It would be really cool to charge up cheap laptops set to repeat this and sneak them into unmonitored collections of books of unsuspecting, impoverished kids.
