@ceruleanspark TBS is indeed the network it was on. It was supposed to be part of an original animated block with a Louis C.K. show and J.G. Quintel’s new show. Louis C.K.’s show was cancelled for obvious reasons, Quintel’s is the Half-Life 3 of animated television and no news on it has been released in a while, so Final Space just ended up being part of their usual lineup with the other remaining animated show on the block.

For the people who care about federation (Probably just @nerthos and @awl) I have no idea why it isn’t working. This is actually a new server, at a new hosting provider and a functionally fresh install of RDN’s version of statusnet. So unless DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, or the other instances themselves are blocking us (or them), there’s no particular reason why it *shouldn’t* work.

@scribus They’re the end result of a 40 year campaign by what is essentially state run media (or to be more accurate, a media run state) to overturn the previous referendum we had on joining the EU in the first place. Turns out it’s really easy to gaslight a populace when you spend decades ensuring they’ll never have the tools required to verify your claims.

Today I had a database problem too. For some reason, after an update of my debian installation, there was no MYSQL service installed anymore. I had to remove the mysql-server package and install the mariadb-server package to get it operational again.

@adiwan Apparently mariaDB doesn't consider "We're changing the syntax for built in SQL functions" to be a sufficiently breaking change to merit any sort of warning, so the site has been broken for 2 days because an autoupdate happened.
