Incidentally, having consumed the entire series in just over a week, I cannot praise Brandon Sandersons Mistborn series enough. They're amazing and if you're into actually interesting fantasy, you should be reading them. Plus the post-timeskip Alloy of Law is great. Steampunk era allomancer bounty hunters shoot up half a city trying to rescue kidnapped women. Literally the best thing.

@flaredancer It's actually really good. I was a little leery because steampunk has been done /to death/, but it's actually handled well. The relationship between the two main characters and their occupation of choice gave it a really strong Cowboy Bebop vibe.

With music used in movies now a days, they usually use popular music during that timeframe that the movie was either made or when it is being released. But most cases, you would just forget about the music and just find it tacky and old. Movies such as Jurassic Park and Inception are the complete opposite. Everyone that has heard the theme of those movies would most likely remember it in their heads because it is catchy and memorable. John Williams is great making memorable and so is Hans Zimmer. So, instead of getting the most recent song made by Kanye West or One Direction, actually get a person that can make or incorporate music that will make it memorable to the viewer.

Had a dream today that @scribus, @nerthos, and I were waging war on... something... I can't quite remember all the things, but I know Nerthos was making us armor out of some weird sort of jelly-looking substance which was stronger than steel and, for whatever reason, needed 1/8 oz mercury in it and to be made by the wearer to be effective. Brain, what?

@tenebarius Yeah, that's my take on it, too lol And, generally, I believe that it's better for one's suffering to end, than to keep on living in pain (serious physical trauma victims, cancer paitents, etc.).

@flaredancer For me it depends. Generally I think I'd rather let people go, but I just have this instinct of, "Hold on 'til the last possible minute."

@tenebarius I think my view is possibly colored by the fact that I was suicidal at a very young age, and for quite a long time. I don't really feel that there's anything to fear in dying, and I believe in a cyclical time structure, with rests inbetween lives, so I don't fear losing people either. I'll see them again, they just need to rest now.
