@mrmattimation lizards love humidity you batcave

@mrmattimation Zero Humidity, like in Death Valley. That bloody hurts man, and Death Valley isn't even really zero humidity. Your eyes and mouth will dry out extremely fast, and if you are really unlucky you can even start having respiratory problems.
Go on, you make California sound awesome :+

Petition for a second referendum on EU membership owing to the incredibly narrow margin https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215
Saturday, 25-Jun-16 11:43:00 UTC from web-
@tiffany At other times you think you are backed by all the logic in the world and it turns out that you forgot to take into account something that undermines more than half of your arguement.
And this is why I find debate clubs so funny. You get assigned a random thing to be either for or against, and then you suddenly have someone from Russia and one person from Lithuania discussing something like the NSA and the spying on cityzens, of which you can clearly see they both know nothing about.
Meanwhile on social media you would have no idea of the agenda of that particular person. -
@critialcloudkicker Well, some people like to make their agendas pretty clear
-
@tiffany And some people are blind. And if you manage to mobilize the blind, then you have a flock.

@critialcloudkicker It's nice to talk about even in an argument, it helps me to organise what I think
-
@tiffany Hey, it helps you and it helps me. double win. Also I am guilty of doing the same thing from time to time.
Heck, sometimes I just start typing something in a text-processor to jolt down what I really think about something and turns out I was sort of barking up the wrong tree, or up the right tree with the wrong barks. But it always helps to organize my mind on {topic}. -
@critialcloudkicker I do that sometimes, I'm fairly bad at following an argument when I feel strongly about so many aspects of it

As for Scotland, they deserve better and have every right to leave us in favour of the EU.
Saturday, 25-Jun-16 12:07:00 UTC from web-
@tiffany Now you are putting words in my mouth.
-
@critialcloudkicker I wasn't applying that to what you said
-
@tiffany Oh ohkay. In this case I actually think that people want a democracy so their collective interests can be pursued. Things like a thriving economy, stability, and safery on the forefront. If that meant that I would have to stay in Europe so that Scotland does not leave in order to ( partially ) secure abeforementioned. Yes I'd stay in Europe. But I do not have all the figures, so my view might be scewed.
Such as, you might not need Scotland at all for those things, that would be a big game-changer.

I like how Cloudkicker for some reason felt the need to explain to Tiffany where Scotland was on a map.

How should I know, I know that in my past experience that EVGA are way nicer guys when you have to deal with anything customer support related. And that their designs are less fancy looking while MSI is all up in that GRB LEDS EVERYWHERE grill... I mean, they both have the exact same clockspeeds everywhere. Am I forgetting anything ?

Friday, 24-Jun-16 09:12:24 UTC from web-
@adiwan Ohh, so pretty much those really big near obnoxious to use phones. ... Wait, does that mean my Samsung Galaxy S4 is a phablet ? I keep hearing that my phone is really large. Partially thanks to the Seido Obex waterproof case though.
-
@critialcloudkicker Pretty much it. I looked recently for a new phone and all are HUUUGE. I carry everything in my trouser's pockets so having almost tablet-sized phones in there is impossible or uncomfortable to wear. I'd consider every phone with a 5'' screen or bigger a phablet. 4'' screens are big enough in my opinion.
-
@adiwan Select smartphones from phones where screendiagonal is larger than 3,27 and smaller than 4,5, sort by positive reviews ... Well, the top result is a Blackberry. Otherwise I guess the only really good thing out there is the Samsung Galaxy Mini line and some Iphone thingies I flatout refuse to talk about

Damn "intelligent" power banks. I want to power an arduino off of those but after a short while the power bank cuts off the power because it's thinking that the smartphone's battery is full and doesn't need to charge anymore. In this case the micro controller is soo power efficient that it draws so minuscule amount of current that the power bank goes to sleep.
Thursday, 23-Jun-16 09:25:44 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker That's an option. I'd rather return the powerbank and get my money back before I open and destroy it. On the other hand I got 3 powerbanks with 2600mAh for 9€.
-
@adiwan Yeah, it is always a bad idea to open up and mess with things you can return to the store. Especially if the draw of your Arduino is so very low that you can probably get somewhere around 700 hours on a 2600 mAh powerbank of 3 Euro. ( not calculating power-loss, and assuming the "F it I will go to sleep" is around 4 mA powerload or under )
-
Even with a small 1'' OLED display and a RF transceiver module attached the current draw is so small that the powerbank shuts off. A 3'' LCD display on full brightness doesn't trigger that function. Originally I wanted to use the powerbanks for my DIY RC car remote

@critialcloudkicker People gave a rate before the movie was released (You can see some people rating it with a 1/2) but now that it's available, critics gave them approval.

Someone just linked me this vid when we were talking about guns and gunsafety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGCKFzGAfQ0 . Lets not focus on the gunsafety at all, I find it very entertaining that there are at least 5 things in here that are "extremely american". The first one is within the first 10 seconds of the vid, linking "family fun" to "shooting a gun".
Monday, 20-Jun-16 14:29:55 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker You would be hard-pressed to find any factual evidence that this actually happened in real life and isn't propaganda coming from CNN. you will never be able to get ahold of the full video or see the man's body because it most likely never happened... but to entertain the thought, let's say it did. There are many other items around the house that the kid live which will kill that the kid still gets to handle that are dangerous if not used properly, like a knife or cleaning chemicals, this is no different. I have been on ranges with kids that were being taught to fire automatic weapons and I have never seen a problem come out of any of them. If this actually did happen than as much I hate to say it, it is the instructors fault for not putting his arm atop the Uzi even though he knew fully that the shorter barrel gives that harder recoil impulse, especially to a new shooter who is not trained. Also, I have fired hundreds of rounds th…
-
@ovrclockd Well, if you want to talk about that... Yeah, I know pretty much every big American news organization is trying to work 'their' narrative into their output. Perhaps that is why my un-american brain goes over a news article/item like that very differently. I hope everyone can see that in the first couple of seconds as they open with "family fun, decided to use a gun". I guess those who can not see who/what is trying to manipulate whom by pushing a narrative is how the real problems emerge.
Also whether or not you want firearms in the hands of children, you have to make sure that firearms are respected for the proper reason. Reason being that in the right hands they are tools to take someones life, or your own in the wrong hands. I do not think that any political viewpoint ( except maybe anarchism ) would see it as a bad thing to make sure the proper respect is enforced... It probably the "how do we do that ?" answers that make people antsy
