So, no. I do not have goddamned nginx figured out, and no, the Pleroma 2.0 launch has not made this any less goddamned infuriating.

@scribus The installation of Pleroma comes with an NGINX config file located at /opt/pleroma/installation/pleroma.nginx copy it to the NGINX sites-available directory, change your server names, then symbolically link it to the sites-enabled path

@oracle I had done that previously and it still wasn't working. The directions said to name it a certain thing, which was not the usual Nginx method of naming it the same as the URL is supposed to be. Might that have been my problem? The second time around, I did try modifying a default, instead of copying the provided one, so obviously that was the error, there. :p Thanks.

@thismightbeauser Well, my latest (balls-deep-in-failure) attempt is on Ubuntu 20.04, and nginx is 1.17.10 (Ubuntu)

I’m beginning to consider the idea that maybe I have coronavirus but all it’s doing to me is giving me a cold. It’s been around 6-10 days since I was possibly exposed to it by an elderly customer who maybe got it in Arlington (never did figure out who it was and if they were even in the store), and I’ve been dealing with cold symptoms for a few days now. No fever yet, though, and my cough was exceptionally minor and is gone today. Hopefully if that’s the case I didn’t get anyone sick, I was careful to make sure I was sanitizing everything in my cough radius just in case.

IMO, the whole thing is a PR disaster waiting to happen, but that’s fine, I guess. The guy was put there to be the fall-guy when union negotiations broke down... then this happened.

@scribus We’re just kind of telling people we’re gonna card them but our interim President was really mad about having to change anything about the way we operate so we were explicitly told during a very angry conference call that it’s all just for show and we’re not supposed to actually turn anyone away.

@scribus The biggest bummer is that I was planning to meet someone out there who I've known for like three years but have never met in person, she's in Colorado and I'm in Virginia and we both thought we were gonna get to finally meet each other at VidCon. Now we're both stuck where we are for the foreseeable future.

@scribus my favorite part of that press conference was that Fox News had a real-time DOW counter in the corner, so every time he said something dumb, you could watch the recession get worse in real time.
