  2. @scribus Google is the system designed to keep you enslaved, sure it allows you to find information and educate yourself, but its like asking the salve master or the prison warden to help you better yourself.

  3. So, looks like Wednesday, 5pm Eastern / 2pm Pacific, this is gonna be a thing (God and my ISP willing) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly1QQANS2DQ&feature=youtu.be

  4. I hold opinions on Muppet performers, is this why or because I am single?

  5. The new Kermit performer, Matt Vogel, sounds kind of like Kermit is losing his frog accent. Like how Arnold Schwarzenegger needs a speech coach to keep his signature accent after being in the States. Only Kermit's losing his. It doesn't *feel* like "not-Kermit" at all, but it is definitely different and new.

  6. @mrmattimation And good riddance to it!

  7. One of my cousins is posting all sorts of gathering and event pics. Not that I wish for them to catch covid, but I kind of hate to think they might "get away" with it?

  8. Which, I dunno, IS that just the so-called "human" "condition?" Are we all not just trying to be who even we think we "are?"

Sunday, 02-Aug-20 20:39:17 UTC from web
  9. @scribus He sure seems to be putting in a lot of work to sound like he thinks he's supposed to sound

  10. Because 2020 wasn't already 2020 enough https://youtu.be/lQJFP1INGxs # lyrics I think? Hard to hear through the groaning and vocal fx

  13. Hell, Alice Cooper is deeply faithful, AND he's keepin' Halloween alive, baby, three-six-five!

  14. And I feel bad, sometimes, because I say "religious nuts." I don't mean to say all religious folk are off in any way. I mean specifically to refer to the subset of religious people who take it to a nutty degree.

  15. @adiwan Well, more than zero of them have previously railed against makeup, Halloween, Madri Gras, and fun in general...

  16. There was one congressperson or senator or whomever who said "A mask covers the face, made in the image of God," but I think even the nuts thought he was crazy.

  17. @adiwan I guess I don't really know that a major amount have been using religion specifically, but it just seems common in a lot of science denial.

  18. "God said nothing bad will happen to me. But, He also told me that if a bad thing happens, it's all my fault..." Tell you what, either someone wrote it down wrong, or this deity is an abuser. I heavily doubt an all-powerful deity would be abusive (and still have us around to gripe about it after hundreds of generations). Therefore, I'm pretty sure the books aren't quite accurate... Maybe, just maybe, we were given this brain and these reasoning skills to, you know, USE THEM!?

  19. @adiwan I've usually been a bit cavalier about new diseases, too, aside from standard flu-season hygiene. I was on team "don't wear a mask if you aren't sick, we need them for front line workers" until the new science came out. And I, too, do not understand people who take the advice of a group of uneducated desert monks who've been dead for two thousand years and their demigod fanfiction over modern science and medicine.

  20. @mrmattimation I'm not antisemitic, I just use the same propaganda tactics as the nazis against my political opponents

  26. @adiwan Club Mate?

  27. @adiwan Curious, do you have establishments that might be more of a "barber shop" situation? Like, in the USA, there's sort of a "barber for men, salon for women" thing going on. I kind of like the idea of just a neutral "haircut place."

  28. I just hope nobody who got these genetically modified radioactive alien kudzu seeds and heard the gov't say not to plant them decides to play the "Screw what you say" card

  30. @adiwan It's not especially pronounced. I've seen some that were gnarly, like you need peripheral engaged to see anything, but this isn't too bad. I think I'm more tripped out by how wide it is, coming off of the laptop life. :p
