@thismightbeauser @scribus That is indeed the case, a lot of rich people have middle class cars and discrete houses and do their best to keep people from knowing how rich they are, due to the general sentiment of "wealth equals evil"
You can't blame them really, if the mob will hate you just for managing to make good decisions and earning your family big money. I'd probably do the same if I couldn't simply relocate to a fortified compound with a minefield around it. It makes no sense to feel empathy for a group that has none for you, for whom you'll always be the bad guy regardless of what you do or don't do, that openly talks about how good it'd be if you died.
The ones that show off are the sociopaths, politicians and entertainment industry guys, who by default are crooks as that whole industry is built on crime and debauchery. -
@scribus Told you, ask rin, he's handling that stuff.
-
@scribus Can you give me your `lsb-release -a` and your `nginx -v` also? Thx.

@scribus I mean, there's Bill Gates and whatnot. On the other hand you get people like this guy, who think it's an okay idea to keep making electric cars at a moderately high risk of illness to his employees with no one to buy them. http://rainbowdash.net/url/875471

@scribus I realize you're just joking, but with all of the ill will that circulates about rich people, it makes me wonder if the stigma is self-perpetuating because all the smart (good?) ones don't talk about their wealth. So it looks like rich people are scabs when in reality the scabs are the only ones talking about having money at all.

@scribus Blame Obama for making Trump look bad by creating an organization Trump dismantled.
-
@scribus We’re just kind of telling people we’re gonna card them but our interim President was really mad about having to change anything about the way we operate so we were explicitly told during a very angry conference call that it’s all just for show and we’re not supposed to actually turn anyone away.

@scribus Long live the orange lying gobloid dictator

@scribus The biggest bummer is that I was planning to meet someone out there who I've known for like three years but have never met in person, she's in Colorado and I'm in Virginia and we both thought we were gonna get to finally meet each other at VidCon. Now we're both stuck where we are for the foreseeable future.
-
@scribus Very boned. I’m not going to LA anymore. :/
-
@scribus the chads and stacies will soon meet their day of reckoning
-
@scribus my favorite part of that press conference was that Fox News had a real-time DOW counter in the corner, so every time he said something dumb, you could watch the recession get worse in real time.
-
@scribus I also considered buying a gun to protect myself from suburban whites
-
@scribus How else to protect a hoard of toilet paper? When the hoarders aren't dragons then they need something to help shoot fire.
-
@scribus Maybe it's just a city druid in their beast form.
-
@scribus Can you point me to the directions you're using? I could try it.
-
@scribus I live next to IAD. Usually hear a plane flying overhead several times a day. I think I’ve seen or heard one plane in the last four days.
-
@scribus Possibly related, this company’s trading pretty low right now too because of internal rumors that they’re going to shutter stores for a few days while we get our inventory back together. Totally unprecedented by the way and I don’t see it happening. We only close one day a year - Christmas - and have never closed for anything else, be it inclement weather or otherwise.
-
@scribus We have a store over in Langley like twenty minutes from here that did half a million dollars on Wednesday alone.
-
@scribus I own one share (approx. three dollars) in some pharmaceutical company (I got it for free) so that company better be the one that creates the vaccine.
-
@scribus VidCon
-
@scribus Nah I’m potentially heading there for a convention, and, if everything lines up, business. Supposing the state isn’t under quarantine by then.
-
@scribus there’s an Internet short where they imply Homer votes based on whoever Marge is voting for and if he doesn’t know who Marge is voting for, he votes for the Republican.
-
@nerthos @scribus Rin seems to be the dev dealing with nginx https://patch.cx/notice/9snOdafVWNXv6Q8R4y
-
@scribus Nice. Real Potato Knishesing nice. I absolutely wanted to copy the whole post instead of, you know, LINKING TO IT when I selected "share" and, you know, NOT "COPY."

@scribus I remember being shocked having seen a picture of him after he’d been in office a few months. He looked like he wanted to die. He’s a lot better at hiding it now but it’s super clear he’s not much longer for this earth. I genuinely believe if he’s re-elected we’ll be having a state funeral for him before his second term is up.
-
@scribus Obama didn’t blame Bush for this long and in that case Bush really did cause a lot of his problems.

@scribus That's good. If you end up needing more help maybe you could Pastebin your config somewhere. Nginx can be particularly difficult to set up and even I have trouble configuring it without specific examples. The syntax it uses is particularly asinine. It seems like it's trying to imitate INI style configs, but then enforces the requirements of semicolons and braces. Omitting them often produces bizarre results instead of breaking completely.
