  1. @scribus That's why I really liked the ending to Deadpool, where mid-aesop Deadpool just blows the bad guy's brains out

  2. @scribus It's like if you're hiking in farm country, find yourself in a grazing field not knowing it, deciding to have a lay-down, only to find the cows waltz on over to you and nigh trampling you because they have to know what you're doing

  3. @scribus Hopefully with less concrete between the cartridges.

  5. @scribus Next time you are at your grandparents' ask if they still have it and rescue it from their negligence towards retro electronic entertainment devices.

  6. @scribus Finally a place where zombies can shelter from a world that hates and fears them

  7. @scribus I'm assuming your referring to HSK?

  8. @scribus it might be on...TBS? Is that a channel? I think they have the US rights. You need to give the protagonist an episode or so to bed in, but after that, it’s a fun show. The villain is voiced by David Tennant

  9. @scribus this is actually one of the easier interfaces to work with in this field. I tried using other programs but they intimidate me with their complicated UIs

  10. @scribus Each of the little circles are my key frames. Filled in means there’s a drawing, empty means there isn’t. Areas without circles are holds, meaning it’s identical to the previous frame. The bottom layer is my rough storyboard drawings (some of them nothing more than circles and lines). The layer just above it is most of the animation. Above that is lip sync (not much for this shot), above that is a layer that’s almost exactly identical to the animation layer—the key difference is that instead of colors, there’s shading. I turn the whole layer transparent and tint it blue or purple later. Above that is an effects layer (he’s cracking open a soda, so all the liquid & foam goes there). The very top layer is my camera.

  11. @scribus Yes really! However, you will never experience it unless you are using let to define the variable and you are making asynchronous calls from within the loop

  12. @scribus I've always tried not to sound like the people who say new Simpsons sucks just because they hear other people say it, but at the same time I find the new seasons' approach of "pick a random celebrity and three random nouns and that's our plot" very tasteles

  13. @scribus yeah I went into it more or less blind but expected a worse-than-Futurama-but-better-than-modern-Simpsons show and pretty much got that (in a good way)

  16. @scribus I guess the image's EXIF data (that has the rotation data saved) is ignored here.

  17. @scribus if memory serves they also run on PAL hardware, so everything is 50hz instead of 60. Sonic's gotta go for a reasonably paced jog.

  18. @scribus Did you use an analog video signal on a HDTV? I find that the analog video processing of modern TVs introduces a ton of lag. Once I played Mega Man 2 on our HDTV and it was unplayable, original hardware NES obviously.

  19. @scribus I found that the system lagged in a way that made the experience unfaithful, and the controllers lagged in a way that made it unplayable. I did not test the cartridge slot. 20 of the 85 games are Devry grad project bloat instead of actual Sega games. Damn, I wanted to like it, though....

  20. @scribus I'm considering backing this because it could be a nice birthday or Christmas gift for a family member who likes board games.

  24. @scribus Maybe that's an idea but when I'll do it I'll skip the issue with the dragon dong. I don't know anymore which issue it was.

  25. @mrmattimation @scribus It's led me to believe that they're actually spies sent in by a rival company to destroy our business from the inside out.

  26. @scribus I've had pretty much the exact same thought about some of my cashiers before, some of them are so hopeless that I'm frightened for their futures. One of them literally can't do anything, and believe me, I have tried to find a job for him in the store, every single thing I could think of, even just straight-up manual labor, he managed to screw up somehow. He's not even special needs or handicapped or anything, he's just really, really dumb. The silver lining is that he's only 16, so there's hope that maybe eventually he'll stop being a total screw-up. There's another one who's 58 and I actually don't know how she got this far in life, she's the kinda person that would walk into oncoming traffic because she wasn't told not to.

  30. @scribus I think it’s a little silly of Disney to bow to the alt-right considering most of them are ALREADY boycotting various Disney projects.
