Trump's shifting to the middle. Damn it, he's smart. Now that he's a shoe-in for nomination, he's moving to more moderate stances so that he'll fare better in the general election.

@awl I expected this, but I didn't expect it so soon. I thought he'd want to wait until the convention passed and he was actually officially nominated first.

For the record, I don't think Sanders is a great option either. He will get absolutely nothing done, he'll introduce a bunch of policies that will ultimately fail, he'll try and change too much too quickly, and our economy will stagnate. Plus he'll probably be a weak leader. But he's the least bad option in that monkey circus of a political system.

I URGE any Sanders supporting Americans on RDN who are of voting age to NOT turn to Trump in anger should Clinton get the nomination. If the election ends up being Trump vs. Clinton - which is the more likely outcome, at this point - vote Clinton. I get it, the system is broken and you're papayaed off. But if you vote for Trump simply because he's like Bernie and he's not a part of that system, you're raging against the wrong machine.

@mrmattimation Both of them will uphold the status quo that benefits a small, opulent oligarchy. Donald Trump, being a right-wing demagogue and crass opportunist, most likely doesn't believe 98% of the stuff he is saying to the electorate.

@mrmattimation Trump has a history of "flip-flopping," which is made evident by his support of universal healthcare and a ban on "assault weapons" in the past. He also hired immigrants and relied on Chinese labor to produce goods. Trump's brash show of confidence plays on the fears and frustrations of ordinary people fed up with both the Democrats and traditional Republicans. But being a wealthy oligarch, like Hillary, he would work to defend the interests of wealthy oligarchs. It isn't feasible to make Mexico pay for a Berlin Wall or to round up 11 million illegal migrants.
Even if Trump somehow endangered the interests of the capitalist class as a whole, they would find a way to remove him from power.

@scoot Ah, I wasn't sure if there was a way to ask "are you on 1s or 2s?" without literally asking that, but I guess not. I'll keep that in mind for the future. And yeah, from what I've read even in relatively expensive animations 1s are reserved for really high energy scenes.

@narwhal I could be wrong, but I believe classic Disney was on 1s, which is why it looks so beautiful and smooth. Nobody can really afford it anymore.

@scoot I think it was a mixture of 1s and 2s, but on a frame by frame level hardly anything can really match up to those classic Disney flicks as far as animation fluidity is concerned. I know Richard Williams animated most of his work on 1s, but he's run into tons of financial and development issues over his career. 2s are really the most economical choice these days (though for lots of anime they end up being mostly on 3s due to more meticulous designs and really tight budgets).

I think I've FINALLY locked down a final design for Frisk. Got the colors and everything figured out, too! The hair was the hardest part but I finally figured that out. I didn't want to use the Dora hair that everyone else did. The final hairstyle is a mixture of Jonathan's from MLB 2 and Zach's from Hellbenders. http://rainbowdash.net/url/838455

@mrmattimation Neat design choice with the collar. The hair is much less poofy than most of the fanart I've seen, but it's congruent with what I've seen of your stylistic direction for the short.

@thelastgherkin I had to look up who this character was as I've never really followed Power Rangers. This is still for sure worth getting upset about, but I literally had no idea this specific case was going on.

@narwhal I mean, the original Rita was variously played by an Asian or Hispanic woman. Not everyone is going to be happy with any decision, but either one of those is not white.

@thelastgherkin Mm, Hollywood casting is a fearful machine that'd rather cast a bankable well-known white person even if it means the erasure of pre-established minority fictional characters, because as long as people still end up going to go see the film they couldn't care less about any kind of cultural transgressions they may be committing.
