@spots Your art has been improving a lot lately! I quite like the hair and colour balance in the design here. The shoulders should be a bit more evened out given the perspective, but generally the anatomy is solid. Good work!

OK, the music in "Tara the Android" is unsettling because it's off somehow, but how is it off? I don't think it's atonal, and it isn't arrhythmic, right?

@scribus Yeah, I'd say so. Any facet of the composition wouldn't sound nearly as creepy independently, it's the sum of parts that makes Tara unsettling.

@narwhal I just tell myself that the fact I never managed to nail that theory stuff in 8 or 9 years of lessons makes me punk rock.

@scribus My theory's okay, I think. Competent enough to get by, but my advanced theory knowledge is very rough. Theory's not for everyone though, it's a very specific language with distinct rules and components, so there will certainly be people able to easily pick it up and vice versa.

So I went downstairs to check on the laundry and the dryer said 19 minutes left. Which is cool, because the washing machine was on the spin cycle right before it finished. So I totally forgot what I was doing to stare intently at the hypnotic spin of the washing machine, and when I looked back at the dryer it said there were 45 minutes left, and I am a little confused

@tiffany That's the other thing- I still find Demon's Souls, the first game in the franchise, to be the most challenging. The Souls were never about one-upping themselves in terms of difficulty, and the smart design plays a big part in their challenge and appeal.

@thelastgherkin Technically the Link from A Link to the Past the same Link from A Link Between Worlds. I'd like to play it too but I don't have a 3DS yet.

@adiwan @thelastgherkin I've played it, it's a pretty good Zelda title especially if you're a fan of 2D classics in the series like A Link to the Past and the first one. You have access to pretty much all the major items really early in, so it draws more from the open roots of the franchise compared to other recent installments. Its designs aren't awfully striking and its writing is a bit stiff at times, but it's largely a fun adventure.

@narwhal I think I prefer the album version a bit just because there's an incredible ebb and flow to its instrumentation (and that chorus just explodes) but it's fascinating to hear a more minimalistic take on the song

@tiffany It's a really neat reinterpretation of an already great song, I find it fascinating how it still sounds full bodied but it's basically just percussion and vocal overdubs
