@narwhal This is also what you have to do if you choose Charmander in the original Red or Blue, but this is not the case in Fire Red and Leaf Green as Charmander learns Metal Claw at level 13 in Gen 3.

@eris Looking at it in terms of Gym Leaders early game, Bulbasaur is kind of an optimal pick. Grass is super effective against rock and water and resistant to electricity. Although I'm generally partial to the grass type starter in Pokemon games regardless, with maybe one or two exceptions.

The news of an upcoming Hollywood live action Ghost in the Shell film just has me wishing Hollywood never, ever manages to make an Evangelion adaptation

Although in all honesty the original 1995 Ghost in the Shell film still holds up really well, so just watch that. No director has or will handle the franchise as well as Mamoru Oshii did with that film.

@tiffany Now see, were it directed by someone along the lines of Ridley Scott or Christopher Nolan I'd at least have some hope and interest in the project (or if you want a newer director, I could see Alex Garland handling the material well) but as of right now I just can't see Rupert Sanders doing it justice.

@mrmattimation Specifically it's an older Japanese word for fool/idiot (as opposed to the common and more modern "baka") because Holo's vernacular is meant to be reflective of her centuries old age (kind of like when you have characters in Western media using terms from Middle English to emphasize they're from or in a period that is centuries past).
