  1. You know how when you were a kid and watched Doctor Who, the Daleks would show up and you'd hide behind the couch? That's how I watched yesterday's episode when they started the pet name talk.

  2. I'm considering buying an ad space for a random event I'm going to in town, so that I show up and there's a bunch of bronies there and maybe nobody notices, but maybe someone does and the event organizers have to deal with an unexpected demographic.

  3. I ask about bars and coffee and meetups mostly in order to gauge whether this is a good place or a bad place to vent about not really liking any of it anymore. I need more friends than I have, but basically what I've been doing is introducing myself to people, having small talk, and doing pointless things together like pub trivia. Is there a way to really bond with people, apart from hunting down a corrupted unicorn that hid the sun?

  4. Outside the fandom, how often do you guys make it to bars, coffee shops, and meetups? (and compared to within the fandom)

  6. You people made Derpy canon. What hath Celestia wrought. Also ponies use Celestia's name in vain. Now to sit back and wait for the Christian outrage.

  9. I realized a few weeks ago that the brony thing isn't as new as we think. When I was first learning about anime, for example, there were plenty of men who were fans of Azumanga Daioh.

  10. see, that thumbtack's hover message doesn't indicate whether it's stating an action or the current mode when it says "Share my location".

  13. ...but you know what though; I'm going to #, even if it's summer and it's blazing and stifling out. I don't even think I can wait until sundown to try my first run. I'll remember the Rainbow Dash section here. http://ur1.ca/4ew4w

  19. Looney Tunes Back in Action is on TV. Encino Man is in it, and the Time Lord president plays his dad, and Dharma plays Greg. So far it looks like a pretty cool guy who chases Daffy through the WB lot and doesn't afraid of anything. But Encino Man accidentally the watertower, and to my dismay, it contained water and not Warners. Anyway, they're in Vegas now.

  23. so if I use my TiVo® Series 3™ DVR to record MLP:FiM episodes, will they send my name to the government and get me put on some kind of "suspected member of Anonymous" watch list?

  24. !techponies @puzzlemint Double density disks were 720k (880k if you had an Amiga.) 1.44MB disks had an "HD" logo, and could be identified by their additional square hole opposite the write-protect switch. and I have piles of them.

  25. @abigpony Adventure Time is a pretty cool guy. It has a similar idealistic ethos behind it. It's a refreshing sight to see that level of joy in today's sick, sick world.

  26. also, I'm keeping a Warner avatar for the time being, both in honor of he who streams, and also because Wakko doesn't afraid of anything.

  27. True friendship is hard to come by. So in the pilot, TS just saunters into town and gets five, like, right away. I've lived in this town all my life and watched all my friends leave, grow apart, etc. Perhaps that's why RD appeals to me: her element was loyalty. But also, she does all the action stuff and has an amazing color scheme. Cyan was my favorite color since I was a kid. Anyway, in the pony world, friendship is magic. In the real world, sociopaths are the big winners.

  29. yes, MLP will eventually get onto a Hot Topic T-shirt, and at that point being a brony will be a much less bold statement.

  30. So how long do you think it'll be before some influential megachurch pastor decries MLP:FiM and its online male following as some kind of homogay conspiracy? I'm a bit disappointed they haven't already.
