  2. @blots Also, anonymity is merely a double edged sword. It is what drives the internet, but like any good resource, it can be abused for ones own devices. People have been using it neutrally or negatively. It has been a while since people have used this on a grand scale to promote positive change. But, that isn't true, remember SOPA and all that? We have proven that people (The entire demographic of the internet) can gather together to promote something good. (Or rectify the bad of others, but that is a good thing.) Also, individual sects of the Internet have done some SPECTACULAR things together. I am just not familiar with them all. but, a problem has arisen. People have been finding it less urgent to defend others, even a stranger's, credibility or dignity. Because of some sort of idea that everyone is immune to words, and that those who manage to succumb are deemed lower in status. Which, is very, very old. That idea is mostly vilified in public, but not the internet. Yet.

  3. @blots People have simple quieted down, this is not a good thing. The ignoring of trolls is mostly used as a way to keep people away from a near hopeless argument where the troll merely plays the devils advocate, trying to get a reaction out of someone that will please them. Hedonistic in a sense. The internet doesn't HAVE to be this way. People are merely believing that is has to be this way. creating some kind of loop of confirmation bias and bandwagon where they believe such things are unfix-able creating a pessimistic view of the world, and humanity. BUT! The confirmation bias can also act the other way as well. it only SEEMS as if the bullies and creeps are every where, but, you may be looking in the wrong place on purpose or, you are merely counting or valuing the negative more, blocking out the other info that will balance out that. The problem: Trolls are infesting areas to get people mad, no one is infesting areas to make people happy. (Well, not exactly. Left out info.

  4. @blots A feeling of invincibility is what happened. Morality is displaced when wrongdoings aren't properly punished.

  5. @blots Well, those creeps and bullies are more "vocal", as it were, but that doesn't necessarily mean they own anything, even the Internet. Else who would condemn them, or dare speak against them?

  13. @blots I dunno.. I was never really attached to Derpy, maybe I joined the fandom too late to be. It seems like the Derpy fans shot themselves in the hoof with their petitions and emails bugging Hasbro.
