      • Yeah! Glitchy smartphone display. Not only does it create running ghost images (like on old CRT TVs with lost synch signal) but also the digitizer is glitchy and it locked my SIM card with random inputs.

        • Today I was blind for 90 minutes. I was at a location in Hamburg with my company's department where people can experience the life of a blind person. It was interesting.

        • @mrmattimation Not really, the differences never bothered my at all to be completely honest. The digital and set design on those films was so god damned beautiful it makes me cry just thinking about it. Seriously the first one was made in 2009, yet still looks modern.

              • I think 1980 is going to be the best age to have been born.

At 1980 there isn't too much interesting stuff, but being a children you don't mind anyways. Also you get to watch some nice cartoons. It's a very nice decade to chill! And with a bit of luck you might even get your hands on an Atari 2600/5200 or a Commodore 64.

By the time you age 10, the 90's start. And you are conscious enough to start enjoying the best gaming era and the begining of the modern internet.

At 2000 you are already 20, and you can start earning money with a job. Still difficult to get a job, but not as bad as it is today. And with that money you can buy a decent PIII gamer PC and take it to a LAN party so you can play UT and Quake Arena.

By 2010 you reach 30. You probably lost your job, but you have enough experience to apply for another one. By this time you are a married man and have children, which sucks because this means you don't have enough time for games and tech. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy fiddling with a Linux distro, that are now easier to deal with. And maybe play some DOTA or fortnite with your old guild pals in your RGB-lighted gaymer laptop.

2020, honestly, is going to suck terribly bad and everything that comes afterwards is also going to suck terribly bad. So you get to 40 and you start to notice you are starting to lose your gamer touch. But it doesn't matter anymore. You can still enjoy the classics on an emulator! And whatever comes from now on sucks anyways. So you won't miss anything!

                  • Apparently they're gonna be writing Apu out of The Simpsons starting this season. I know that these days he's sort of a controversial character and a lot of people don't like him, and I'm not really one to complain about PC culture, but Apu's character goes beyond his ethnicity, and I think the people who called for his removal ignored that. With that being said, I’m not going to pretend this is a tragedy. Ultimately, whatever they choose to do with the character on The Simpsons is up to them. Apu's been out of focus for several years now, so I can't say that his absence would be a huge deal, because that would be disingenuous. The Simpsons is also a much different show now than it was thirty years ago. Almost none of the original writers are still on the show, and a few of them are even younger than the show itself. If their vision of the show doesn't include Apu, I can't really fault them.

                  • I can count the amount of Hispanic-American cartoon characters on mainstream TV on one hand, none of them are Puerto Rican, and one of them is this lady (voiced by Mike Henry, a white actor). In fact, I’m struggling to think of a single Hispanic character in ANY animated media, save for my namesake in My Little Brony (whose Hispanic heritage is touched on lightly, if at all), to actually be voiced by a Hispanic actor (and I’m guilty of vocal blackface, whiteface, orangeface...) Hispanic characters in media are often portrayed as illegal immigrants or drug dealers. Or both. On The Simpsons, we have a whopping TWO Hispanic characters—one of them is batcaveing Bumblebee Man, and the other one is Dr. Nick maybe. I don’t sound like cherryin’ Dr. Nick. I don’t know a SINGLE Hispanic person that sounds like Dr. Nick. AND he’s incompetent! But APU, the hard-working ladies man with a DOCTORATE in COMPUTER SCIENCE, is the problem? http://rainbowdash.net/url/872979

                      • @adiwan I ended up watching the whole thing in three sittings on Saturday. Dug it. But it did leave me with a hankering to go back to the 90s sitcom with Melissa Joan Hart... And the CAOS comic (which doesn't seem to have published in a year or more).

                      • @scribus I threw out my previous experiences about the old Sabrina series straight away when watching this one. They are totally different but also similar in many aspects. I'd have a bad time if I clinged to the old series. All I knew was that there was a dark comic series that this one was adapting and I heard it was good, so I gave it a chance to stand on its own. Well... I missed a snarky Salem to be honest.

                      • @adiwan Yeah, I tried and did pretty well at keeping things separate. I had read about the first 6 comics, so I had an idea what to expect instead, but live-action YV comparisons are kind of inevitable. And saw some sweet messages from the old cast to the new, too. :)

                      • And I have a feeling Mormons ain’t too happy that South Park and Mitt Romney are the only reasons that people know Mormons still exist. African Americans PROBABLY aren’t thrilled that Cleveland Brown and Madea are the two most popular black characters in the 21st century. And how do you think Italians feel about MARIO?
