  1. Has anyone ever worked night shifts? I know @scribus has. Is it a good idea?

    1. @thelastgherkin Well working a night shift kinda depends on the job.

        1. @thelastgherkin Would you be working stock in back? Or selling toys?

          1. @stormyhugeheart Those are the other two options. It's either a) customer service (selling toys), b) stock room/replenishment (filling shelves) or c) night shifts (recovering from busy days, night-time deliveries).

            1. @thelastgherkin Well I think this is more of your pick. I don't know your life or schedule so I couldn't even guess what would be the best to choose. I mean if your aren't much of people person don't pick the customer service. I have a friend that does stock and hates it but perhaps you would like organizing boxes and such. Now the night shift one is a tricky. I had a night delivering newspapers(Which I would guess is similar to night-time deliveries)(sort of) If your more of night owl then the night shift woold be the pick. Though all these are effected by how much your payed and hours.

              1. @stormyhugeheart Stock it is! I love organising boxes. Organising boxes is my favourite.

          1. @bronymcbroningson I'm on a course right now to give me a retail skills qualification that should be finished by the end of next week, if I pass the rest of my exams.

    3. @thelastgherkin Working nights is complicated. I don't know how things are by you, as far as 24 hour shops and services go, so my advice may be flawed. It's got a few downsides, but they're almost all matched by an upside in my experience. You get to run errands when it's least busy, but it makes socializing harder. Sleep is certainly going to need some adjustment, and the first few weeks will naturally be hardest. Um... It's not inherently bad, but it's not for everyone. At first (and for most of the time) I enjoyed the daytime freedom, but it came with a growing sense of isolation and I think it was a contributing factor in losing touch with several of my old friends (though, we probably would have grown apart in time, anyway). I don't know if any of that was useful at all, or if it was just more of me rambling. :p

      1. @scribus No, that's very helpful. You've helped me make the decision that perhaps night shifts aren't for me.

        1. @thelastgherkin Well, glad to help. Just hope I informed more than simply scared off.

        2. @jinny Some have said that Japan is the reason aliens haven't visited us. Others have said Japan is proof that aliens have visited us. Still others say that Japan is why aliens will destroy us. I . . . don't know where I was going with that. XD
