Give me two good reasons to continue watching FiM. (Hint: Pinkie Pie, Apple Bloom, and Diamond Tiara are not considered good reasons. I can get GIFs of them on pony sites built just for that.)

@ceruleanspark Depends on how you want to view it. There's no heart-pounding urgency to spend every waking moment of my life on active productivity. Yet there are very few things I have that I neither claimed for myself in the first place and can not regain more of after using. Anywho, it really boils down to my decreasing satisfaction with the show. Why would I keep changing my schedule every week to accommodate something that no longer pleases me? Most of what's left to keep my interest is just visual assets. And as I mentioned before, a gif can easily fill that want without the time investment.

@ceruleanspark Now just hold on there a minute, sugarcube. He has the right to dislike it if it wants. Not every pony here has the same opinion and we are here to love and tolerate, not to dislike them or treat them differently because their opinion isn't the same as ours.

@ceruleanspark The writing. For the most part, Season 2 doesn't have me laughing a lot. Pinkie used to be fit for this role in the first season, but it seems like the scaling up of everypony else's zaniness since the Discord episodes has had the effect of making Pinkie's initial role near irrelevant this season. Visually, everything seems to have stepped up a notch and is more attractive, but the stories being told don't resonate with me quite as much. They also seem relatively unevenly paced. Hearth's Warming was a relatively enjoyable episode, but the framestory for it as a play means that we can't take much of what was presented as being accurate since it could be simplified in-world for the sake of being a play, and because what the viewer sees in comparison to what was actually on stage has a clearly visible gap when things shift beyond the limits of the stage's surface bounds. Meanwhile, I can't stand Luna Eclipsed. It feels like watching +5 Call of the Cutie type eps in a row.

@retl I personally disagree with your point about the writing losing humour, in that I still find the show to amuse me in much the same ways it did before, but humor is a completely subjective thing, so if you don't find it funny, you don't find it funny. The stories being told seem to be, (possibly due to no longer being EI) based around teaching the characters things, rather than the audience. You're an audience, rather than a student, so that might explain the loss of resonance. I didn't like Luna Eclipsed very much either (I did like Luna though) If you don't enjoy the show anymore, it might be worth just giving it a rest and perhaps having another whack and the remaining episodes after the season is done airing. If you still can't recapture that feeling, then perhaps it is time to say goodbye, because (from your subjective viewpoint), it's probably all downhill from here.
