@thatonepony I take it you have never owned one then? Maybe you would feel differently. I gave mine up in favor of my home built rig but I would certainly buy one again, I thought it was worth the money.

when i hit the refresh button alot, i think to myself, EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING THE SAME.
-
@derpy128 Actually ..
-
@derpy128 !rndrefresh !mintrefresh
-
@minti i mean when nothing shows up new.
-
@derpy128 I'm never refreshing the page though, ever! XD
-
@minti What is the difference?
-
@milo Between rdnrefresh and mintrefresh? xD
-
@minti Yes.
-
@minti i can use either. i have ie. 6!
-
@milo Mintrefresh is made by me, and is designed to be cleaner feeling than rndrefresh, it also uses the API rather than fetching the page so it has less of an impact on the server.
-
@derpy128 ... Go get firefox or chrome. NOW. IE6 shouldn't even EXIST anymore..
-
@minti I don't suppose you also know any batch do you?
-
@minti Sure does not smell like mint.
-
@hugs ... Don't actually try to smell it, it smells like oil and filly butts.
-
@minti I CANT BUCKING USE EITHER OF THEM CAUSE I HAVE INTERNET EXPLORER!!!!
-
@hugs um...hi... *hides*
-
@minti IE6 is best IE. I had it until I upgraded my desktop PC. Didn't used it too much, but it was fun once in a while.
-
@derpy128 So go download another browser, like I said.
-
@minti Well I smelt something else, oh wait I don't use mintrefresh. Oops.
-
@nerthos IE6 is best IE, I agree. But still, it's so bad.. And NOTHING supports it anymore. I'm surprised RDN works at all.
-
@macpony55 Uhh, kind of.
-
@minti It doesn't. In some old posts I have screenshots of navigating RDN with it.
-
@minti ikr. my stupid parents say ie6 works just fine and we alredy have too many programs on our ancient dinosaur inspiron 9300. (i.e. basic windows 97 home suit.)
-
@derpy128 >take 300 dollars >buy new pc
-
-
@minti Ok, I'm trying to have it display a line of text that has no relation to any task but whenever I try to use the Echo command it just say E is not recognized as an internal or external function and yet when I type the line directly into cmd it displays the text just fine
-
@nerthos dont have 300 dollars just laying around!
-
@macpony55 lower case the e?
-
@macpony55 Waitwait what. Only thing I can think of would be "echo text goes here" <-- lowercase
-
@forestrain Already tried, also tried all caps, it just doesn't make any sense
-
@minti already tried :/
-
@macpony55 Exact line you're using in the script?
-
@derpy128 Why?
-
@minti echo OSPF
-
@nerthos im not a freaking millionaire, and my parents arent either, and i just got cut off from allowance. also, i have no job.
-
@derpy128 Man, that's why I said $300, not $1500 for a top tier.
-
@nerthos im saving up for an alienware one.
-
@derpy128 In fact, it's cheaper to buy the pieces one by one at the same time than buying a premade one.
-
@thatonepony not really. alienware is some of the best. it is made SPECIFFICALLY for hardcore gammers like me, and plus its made in miami.
-
@thatonepony You mean those two parameters aren't mutually exclusive?
-
@thatonepony @nerthos i also have a 15% off coupon! =D
-
@thatonepony Alienware was good some years ago, now is overrated. Well, in fact, all premade ones are overrated xD
-
@minti You can work just for the money.
-
@thatonepony really?
-
@thatonepony even a laptop?
-
@thatonepony I was trying to point out: You can work for dell and know stuff about computers?! What?!?! xD
-
@thatonepony A gold case would be good for refrigeration, but it's completely unnecesary. Some competiotion cars have gold plating on their engines.
-
@thatonepony I had a Mac laptop for 4 years and that thing was solid as heck. I wouldn't call it a waste of money but it sure is expensive. Home built PC's rule though, I just finished mine. For about $1200 I'm rocking dual 24" screens and I can play all my games at max while running other programs.
-
@minti Ah.
-
@thatonepony Exactly. Nothing raises so much heat to need gold plating. Not in home PCs.
-
@dmtactical omfg. can u make it into a laptop?
-
@derpy128 No but there is a better solution: Build a high performance rig and then get a cheap netbook or tablet for mobile computing.
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@dmtactical I spent mostly the same amount of money on mine, just no monitor. Never got the CPU over 40% xD
-
@thatonepony >no cooling system. That's what I'm talking about.
-
@thatonepony A Mac doesn't yield the best performance but I have never seen a tougher laptop for the same price. It's very well built and the aluminum is very strong, mine put up with a lot of beating and a few falls. There are other high strength laptops available but they are all just as expensive or even more.
-
@thatonepony Yes, I think. Colfax allowed RP in character, and Mrdragon broke the spoiler rule with the Daring Do logo. But still, since they do what they do without wreaking havoc over the place, it's ok.
-
@thatonepony "can withstand 6-foot drops, liquids, extreme temperatures and more." Holy
-
@nerthos I think that if it's obvious and not too intrusive it should be fine. Most people can, after all, ignore it if they disapprove.
-
@minti ... Sounds like how I treat my netbook.
-
@ruby Yes, there's a "Hide username" option on !RDNrefresh
-
@nerthos I wasn't aware he was the one that changed the logo, I thought it was cabal since that's the sort of thing he used to do.
-
@thatonepony I've seen toughbooks, some can take a bullet. But they make Macs look like a real bargain. http://www.rapidacc.com/toughbook-computers/business-rugged/toughbook-c1 $2500 for a 12 inch laptop that can "survive a 30" drop". And the prices only go up from there. My 15" Apple survived a fall from that height while it was open and running. My headphones pulled it off the table.
-
@colfax Yeah, redenchilada was angry for that.
-
@colfax So what's the verdict? I just thought it would be fun every once in a while, that's all. I'll stop if I must, but I don't think it's really that intrusive or bothersome.
-
@nerthos ^_^
