@ponyray But does he know what he's doing? Young unicorns don't seem to have good control of their magic, so I'm assuming young pegasi don't know what they're doing either.

@ponyray hmm.. I've always thought I'd make a good earth pony, but if I could choose, I think I might like to fly.. unless I had magical talent like Twilight Sparkle or Trixie, in which case I'd definitely want to be a unicorn.

@ponyray I know people are mentioning strength or magic as a reason to pick the earth ponies and unicorns respectively, but strength is not the reason I would pick a pegasus. And in the end, you may be a unicorn with very limited magic abilities. I pick pegasus because I'd love to be able to fly.

@ponyray 1st you can make wings with magic, the are temporary but you can cast them again after, you can also cast a spell that lets you walk on clouds, 2nd: I'm afraid of heights so no I don't

@quicksilver Right. It seems even the clumsiest of pegasi (Derpy) can fly (although Scootaloo might be an exception, and we've seen Fluttershy is a very weak flier).

@quicksilver you can have limited talent in magic, but you can train trough, talent only goes so far

@zennx right, but there are very few unicorn that can use magic like Twilight. There's the catch. It might depend on where your strengths lie..
