      1. @critialcloudkicker I have faith in everypony working on the show. And they already promised that season 2 will knock our socks off.

        1. @puzzlemint Well, I suppose that news knocked my socks off, but I want to put them back on now.

          1. @starshine silly starshine, it's summer. You don't need to wear socks.

              1. @starshine okays.

    2. @starshine From what I read I understand that she is still writing and consulting for the show. She isn't the executive producer anymore. She is only taking a step back to focus on another project. IMHO it isn't all that bad.

      1. @broniebrown @basil I see. Well, that's not as bad as the !eqdaily post was making it out to be. (I admit it, I read the headline, posted here, and THEN clicked the link to her DeviantArt...)

        1. @starshine you don't wanna joke around then? okays.

          1. @thepulseofdawn Ponies are SERIOUS BUSINESS.

            1. @starshine giggle at the ghostly, guffaw at the grossly.

      2. @broniebrown @starshine Her journal says, and I quote: "I am no longer working on the show". That doesn't seem to leave much room for interpretation.

        1. @puzzlemint What Lauren Faust says later: "My involvement in Season 2 ultimately does not reach far beyond story conception and scripts. A little more involved in the beginning, and a little less towards the end."

          1. @broniebrown @starshine Except Season 2's story conception and scripts are pretty much already done, with the season having already moved into pre-production a couple months back. Meaning Lauren's part is already finished, which leads us right back to "I am no longer working on the show".

            1. @puzzlemint I still say, that's taken way out of context and it was somewhat reckless for that to have been posted on ED with such an attention-grabbing headline. She's not leaving completely, at least not for a whole season, and there's a ton of other freaking talented and awesome people on the staff, some of whom have even posted on ponychan, /co/, etc. so I really can't see the show dropping in quality or losing its direction just because Lauren Faust isn't there to guide it. However, I'm holding off on any further wild speculation until I see what ACTUALLY happens. It seems like there's a lot of baseless accusations that this is the result of Executive Meddling, or that the quality will go way down. It's really way too early to be saying those sorts of things, isn't it?

              1. @starshine reason why I don't look at EqD anymore. It has a huge monopoly on the "reporting" industry.

                1. @thepulseofdawn It's also generally a good nexus for all things pony. Just need to keep in mind that its purpose is to aggregate, not to serve as the final say on anything.

              2. @starshine I agree that the reaction has been blown out of proportion, and that the show will be fine without her.

        2. @puzzlemint And then right after that she says that she's still involved, just "a little less toward the end", and that her credit will be Consulting Producer. That doesn't really mean the same thing as "no longer working on the show".
